2003 to present: Participation in 6 Wolfcamp/Devonian wells, Chaves County, NM. Due
diligence on outbound Barnett Shale sale ($166 million Aspect-Williams). Ran crew in
Moffatt County, CO acquiring leases in a 25,000 acre buy area, against 4 competitor
companies resulting in 85-90% of target area leased for client; Quicksilver Resources. In
house consulting work for Anadarko regarding determination of any type of APC interest
(WI, RI, APO WI/RI or Contractual, where a well shows up on map polygons. Found
over $800K actual cash owed to APC, approximately $1-$1,200 a month in revenue
stream listed as inactive, identified over 5,000 acres of dead leasehold, but were in fact
active, producing , with future wells staked. Also identified leases shown as active, but
were in fact expired/inactive or never earned due to non-performance on contractual
obligations (project lasted 2.5 years). Facilitated sale of NY coalition blocks, 2 blocks
(3,500 ac & 2,900 ac. respectively), and acquired over 6,000 ac. in the heart of Lycoming
Co., PA for Inflection Energy, for approx. 2 years, acting as de facto Land Manager
overseeing projects in PA & OH. Reviewed PSA’a on acreage acquisitions.
4/94 to 2003: Utilized$750k of personal funds in acquisition of Foor Ranch prospect
(14,000 ac., Chaves County, NM). Subsequently participated in 15 Wolfcamp, Penn &
Devonian wells, using personal funds. Acquired and sold 22,000 leasehold acres in
Northern Michigan Antrim trend, 95% now producing. Acquired, sold, co-developed &
participated in two units (Comstock Hills and Churchill Point) containing 58 wells, in
Alpena and Alcona counties Michigan. Acquired leasehold and sold Prairieview
Prospect, Lea County, New Mexico. Facilitated Elk Oil Co. acquisition of S. Lone Wolf
producing Devonian well and participated in subsequent drilling of secondary successful
well. Due diligence project coordinator on three multi-million dollar N. Michigan
Antrim production purchases (Section 29 Credit Strips) on behalf of Holmes, Roberts and
Owens, Denver, Colorado, (Quicksilver Res., Terra Energy & NOMECO).
10/88 – 3/94: Land Manager, Ward Lake Energy, managed and coordinated all aspects
of Land Department including leasehold acquisition, farm-in negotiation, title opinion
construction and curative, damage settlements, pipeline right of way acquisition, division
order delineation and Unit Agreement construction & ratification. Personally raised $10
million in working interest investment capital, 85% of which came from converting a
competitor to investor. During tenure approximately 400 wells were drilled and placed in
production. Prior to Ward Lake’s sale, facilitated profitable sale of remaining
undeveloped acreage (75,000 acres, 90% now producing).
10/75 – 9/88: Consulting land work (Shell Oil) on northern Michigan Niagaran Trend
leasehold acquisition and drilling title opinion curative. Various land projects throughout
2. Rocky Mountain and other areas in Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota,
Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. Highlights
include two years work on Abo play, Chaves and De Baca counties, New Mexico.
Participated in drilling Bishop RY Com # 1 and Cleo ANC Com #1 in Chaves County
New Mexico, Yates Petroleum operator (1979-81). Also extensive work in Colorado’s
Weld County in Codell – Niobrara play (1977-1979). Began land work as staff landman
with J.D. Simmons, Inc., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (1975-1977).
