Upgrade of Citrix Xenapps V5 to V6
As part of the Heritage transformation programme to upgrade all key thin client
infrastructure within Vodafone UK and interfaces with Vodafone Group globally. The
Key deliverable was to upgrade all Call centres within Vodafone UK (including India &
eastern Europe) with Version 6.5 of Citrix Xenapp (Caas), Amdocs Crystal application
software & various Bespoke applications (over 50) that had to be re-packaged &
tested prior to release. Liaise with all key stakeholders & application test teams to
mitigate any impact upon call centre operations & staff (10,000) & maintain SLA’s for
any issues prior to Operational handover. To also plan with operational departments
future capacity requirements with ongoing projects
Managing several projects within Collaboration & Productivity Technology
(CPT):
Global print stabilisation Key deliverables were to work with Ricoh & global
market partners to upgrade & stabilise a secure print solution for 11 countries
worldwide based upon internal Security & vulnerability review. Also to further
integrate other acquired local markets in Spain, Germany, Romania, Greece &
recently acquired UK fixed line (Cable & Wireless-CWW)
• Blackberry 5 decommission
Decommission BB5 service from 18 Countries globally. Working with All Local
market support partners, Vodafone Comms. teams & Service owners. With no
budget available a creative approach had to be used in order to incentivise all BB5
users to migrate on to alternative Platforms.
• Secure Account Creation process
Create service process globally within Customer service desk & Global service
desk, end to end secure account for dashboard applications within Vodafone
Infrastructure & datacentres.
• Wintel Service consolidation – Spain
Part of a Cost reduction exercise to migrate & consolidate the WINTEL service
contracts from external vendors to internalise & leverage any existing internal
services distributed across Vodafone shared service centres.
• Appropriate prioritizing, planning, resourcing and contingency is in place.
• Plans, etc. are base lined and tracked accordingly.

Several phases of deployment which was initiated with 10,000 Apple iPad devices being
distributed throughout all UK offices for management staff. Using Mobile Iron Mobile
device management software.
Further projects were deployment of some 1500 more “Hardened” devices incorporating
Apples Configuration software. Latter phases of project encompassed other countries –
Portugal, Spain & France a further 1000 devices were deployed using various 3 rd
party
