British Airways Cabin Crew In Flight Customer Experience (IFCE).
• Complete responsibility for project portfolio from initial scoping strategy through to
final delivery, including production and justification of business cases, robust
plans, governance and contract negotiation.
• Setting detailed technology approach for new applications and enhancement of
legacy systems.
• Leading and coaching flexible teams of near shore and Global partners to deliver
projects.
Achievements:
• Crew Mobile Allowances. £1.6 Million project to deliver a mobile crew variable
payments system.
• developer.ba.com a cutting edge distribution channel designed to unlock
completely new mobile enabled sales models.
• Successful integration of the British Midland fleet into BA to enable rapid and
effective transition. Project realised £100 million in benefits per year.
• Quick and efficient creation of a new internationally based, fleet driving cost
savings and enhancing customer experience.
• Implemented Performance Management on the Oracle ERP bringing structured
career development to over 8000 crew.
Plan Manager Crew Tracking
Responsibilities:
• Brought in to build a cohesive and comprehensive plan for the very large and
complex Crew Tracking Project.
• Close management and monitoring of the struggling offshore supplier giving early
warning of risks or slippage. Ensuring the project took timely corrective action to
minimise impact. Definition and shaping of project phases and associated teams
including supplier regression testing, large-scale integration testing and user
acceptance testing.
Achievements:
• Drew together different teams with conflicting objectives to facilitate, shape and
agree the first single view of this very large, challenging project.

2. • Redefined governance, working procedures and supplier processes in order to
deliver the £15 million project plan.
New Cabin Crew Fleet
Responsibilities:
• Delivery of Mixed Fleet Operational Tracking.
• Balancing business scope and IT change in order to deliver to intractable dates.
Achievements:
• Flawless delivery to extremely challenging deadlines minimising business
exposure to significant industrial relations issues.
• Crew efficiencies of over £60 million per annum and rising
Workforce Management
Planned and managed a complex upgrade of the ‘Infor’ workforce-planning tool for sites
across the USA. Building links with Airlines to use their experience to shape the project
and aid supplier selection.
Absence Management for Heathrow Customer Services.
Drove the process definition, design, build, implementation and training of an entirely new
performance system in only 6 months. Highly successful implementation supporting a
reduction in absenteeism of 21%
Supply Chain and Warehouse Management
Delivered the IMI Order project. A challenging £1.5 million project delivered in under a
year against a background of severe business disruption caused by the Gate Gourmet
industrial action.
E-Commerce
Delivered Debit Card Acceptance on BA.com. Coordinated multiple teams to implement
this technically difficult project. Generated a significant shift of card usage to debit cards
for internet bookings and a consequent reduction in cost of sale.
Amadeus Migration – Contact Centres
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the transition of all Call Centre systems from the existing
customer reservation system, BABS, to the replacement Amadeus Host.
• Leading a core team of technical specialists with dotted line reports from other
project managers.
• Pro-actively coordinating with customers to identify and implement business
changes, integration and business process testing to plan and facilitate
implementation and cut over worldwide.
Achievements
• Conversion and implementation of a dozen systems in one of the largest and
most complex and challenging programmes in the UK. Enabled a smooth
transition for numerous and diverse customer areas.
Project Leader / Analyst programmer 1990 to 2000
Developed, designed and ultimately lead a number of systems and projects. Most notably
QIK2 a contact center selling system used in over a dozen countries by thousands of
users. I also gained extensive experience in ticketing, CTI, and financial accounting
systems.
