Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Direct the operations of the Interline, Tariffs and Pricing Distribution Units by originating and
developing interline policies and offline pricing strategies/plans that facilitate the generation of
Interline passenger revenues. Negotiate with senior representatives at other airlines and at
IATA/Industry assemblies the framework against which Interline agreements (including code share
pricing and settlement) are developed and settled and which protect the Company's interests
against loss. Advise senior management on appropriate IATA/Industry interline policies and
negotiate them at appropriate IATA/Industry assemblies.
2. Spearhead the development and implementation of Sales initiatives that will help build brand,
increase industry esteem and preference, and establish ownership of the market space. You will be
responsible for driving shareholder value through the maximization of revenue. As a Manager you
will effectively lead a team of Sales Executives with the objectives of continuing to grow and develop
the client base.
3. Deliver set revenue targets, produce long and short term local / international sales and channel
plan including revenue targets as part of an integrated sales strategy. You will manage relationships
with other airlines, trade bodies, government and civil aviation authorities as well as the general
public. You will also be responsible for achieving annual sales targets within operating budget with a
focus on increasing revenues.
4. Accountable for strategy formulation, sales, leadership, account management and staff
management.
5. Manage and control the Sales team to develop Airline’s business through different distribution
channels, thus ensuring the commercial objectives of the company are met. The job ensures the
efficient operations of the field sales, maximum job satisfaction for the sales executive and the best
standard of services to the channels, maintaining and strengthening relationships with key
stakeholders. The job also ensures that the Travel Agents & Corporate houses are fully aware of
Airline’s products/ services and are motivated to sell Airline’s.
6. Lead and manage activities of Senior Sales Executive/ Sales team and the travel shops, appraise
and assess performance for a smooth day to day operation ensuring that all travel agents
(stockholders) are regularly visited and properly serviced by the Sales Team. Ensure the team is
carrying out their functions for achieving targeted sales. Provide support by visiting the problem
areas with the concerned Executives and help to sort out the problems.
7. Analyze and recommend new sales strategies to the Higher Management, to achieve projected
revenue targets through efficient and professional utilization of all available resources.
2. 8. Analyze Agency sales, establish targets for Sales Executive/ Sales team and the travel shops' and
contrive sales strategies for peak season. Organize Seminars or Presentations on Airline’s products
and services as and when necessary for the travel agents to ensure full understanding of Airline’s
products and services.
9. Develop key Corporate Accounts, draw an annual Account Development plan, continually evaluate
and analyze performance of these accounts and ensure that the plan is implemented. Evaluate
corporate deal proposals presented by Senior Sales Executives and based on traffic potential,
seasonality, competition etc., and advice a course of action ensuring incremental revenue.
10. Continually review travel trade developments and suggest appropriate modifications in the sales
policy to the line manager, to ensure profitability and explore new business projects. Conduct
Agency Investigations for BSP/IATA to ensure Agency layout and decorum is according to Airline’s
Corporate Standards. Prospect for potential agents for Airline’s and convinces them to obtain
Airline’s ticket stock.
11. Achieves annual sales target set by ensuring it is in line with the Company's objectives. Provide
and maintain a high standard of customer service and develop appropriate work procedures to
ensure best service to the customer.
Reporting to Commercial Department
Must report to Commercial Department to the attention of Head Office on the below reports:
a) Fortnightly sales – to be forwarded to Commercial Department b) Explain why monthly targets are
being achieved / not achieved and report on ways to improve sales.
Person Specification
• Relevant academic & training qualifications in a similar field
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Positive attitudes, initiative with good inter personal skills.
Terms and Conditions:
