3. INITIAL PLANS – WHAT INFLUENCED ME
For my FMP I will be creating a car graphics brochure which I am really looking forward to creating this because I
think it will be a fun and interesting project to do.
What influenced me to create something like this was my interest in car graphics and different wrap available.
This happened just a couple of years ago after watching some Youtube videos of cars leaving a car show and also
watching a tv series called Yiannimize.
Yianni a British TV personality and businessman who is the founder of the car customising company Yiannimize,
which was the setting of the TV series. Yianni: Supercar Customizer, originally broadcasted on the British TV
channelDave. He and his team have over 20 years of experience of car design and wrapping. He's done many car
designs for people including a range of celebrities. However, he doesn’t just wrap cars, he and his team also do
custom builds, custom coloured alloys, window tints, full leather re-trims through to complete vehicle
conversions and vehicle branding. The business is based around London area, so they do get a wide range of
clients including celebrities.
The TV series gave me an interest in wanting to do car graphics as a career. This was because I liked the wrap that
each car had done and how the car visually looked at the end. But also the different designs and how unique each
car was. When placing the same wrap on different cars this will look different and doesn't always suit each make
of car, part of the design process to make a car look great you need to be very visual in design creating which I
find very interesting.
4. INITIAL PLANS – WHAT I'M GOING TO CREATE
For my FMP project I'm looking to design a brochure on car graphics
for a client. It would explain the before and after design of a car,
information about the company and a guide to the process on what
the car goes through to look like the after design with the graphics on.
I think that this will be an interesting and fun project to make as I am
very interested in car graphics and the range of designs that make
each car look different and unique. However, when it comes to
wrapping cars in certain designs there are a range of wrap types such
as gloss, matte, satin, brushed, custom, carbon, cut out and chrome
and each one of these wraps can come in many different designs
which give different styles to different types of vehicles. This can be
down to the shape of a vehicle and what extras it may have in terms of
body kit, spoilers etc.
When thinking about making this brochure, the things that I am good
at which would participate in this project is sketching car vectors
(templates) and creating designs for cars. Also how each design would
be different and unique to one type of car.
5. INITIAL PLANS – WHY I WANT TO CREATE A
BROCHURE
I have chosen to create a brochure for my FMP, the reason for this is because I think it will be a fun project
to do and is about car graphics and wrap which I find really interesting.
As a visual person I like drawing and artwork but also I like cars which with this particular subject I am able
to incorporate all this to create a brochure of interest that is informative and has great car designs.
With doing this I am also able to use different software which builds my knowledge and experience
further.

8. MOODBOARD – TEMPLATE ANALYSIS
Looking at the moodboard there are variety of styles on how each of the vehicles look. However for my project I
will create templates like these so I can use them for the before and after design in my brochure. But the
templates are mainly in black and white with either the headlights or number plate colloured in, this is so every
detail and creases of the vehicle can be identified on the template.
When creating my brochure I will make sure to do a black and white template and then fill the template after so
the car looks similar to a painted vehicle rather than a template of a vehicle. Furthermore, when filling the
templates in with colour for my brochure it will make the designs on the vehicle visible and go with the colour
scheme of the vehicle. Also when creating the templates for my brochure I will make sure to include a range of old
and new cars as my target audience is aimed at people aged 17+ years.
10. MOODBOARD – CAR GRAPHICS ANALYSIS
Looking at this moodboard there are a variety of colours and designs for each vehicle. So when creating my
brochure I will make sure to include a range of colours and designs for each vehicle that I plan to use in my
brochure.
When looking at the moodboard the colours that mainly appear is black, white, green, grey and blue, so
when creating my brochure I will make sure to include these colours as visually they appear to go well
together and should capture peoples attention.
Many of these designs on the moodboard look similar, I will am going to try and create a variety of designs
for my brochure to suit different people as they are likely to have different preferences but also different
vehicles.
12. MOODBOARD CAR GRAPHIC BROCHURE ANALYSIS
Looking at this moodboard it has a simple layout and easy to follow so I will look to create something
similar in my brochure that I will be creating.
On the moodboard the brochures are either black and dull colours or bright colours. So for my brochure I
will use a variety of colours to make everything within the brochure stand out in some way as I feel it will
help to get peoples attention when the read it.
14. MOODBOARD – MODIFIED CARS ANALYSIS
Looking at the moodboard most of the vehicles have a spoiler or some form of body kit on the vehicle
which look really good but also there are different makes of vehicles.
For the modified cars moodboard I will make sure there are designs for vehicles with and without
modifications, so that none of my target audience feel singled out because their vehicle is modified or not.
By putting designs with modifications on it may also inspire them to add things to their own vehicle which
comes at a price though.
16. MOODBOARD – NEW AND OLD CARS ANALYSIS
The moodboard has a variety of vehicles from different years which are different shapes and sizes. When
considering my project I will make sure to include designs for a range of vehicles old and new from the
years 2000 to 2020 as I feel this is the ages of cars the majority of people will have.
18. MOODBOARD – LOGO ANALYSIS
Looking at the logos within the moodboard, most of the logos are quite basic because they don’t use many
colours and are mainly big and bold lettering. This is probably help to make the logos stand out.
However when considering my brochure I will make sure to do something similar to these logos such as
using big and bold lettering to help make it stand out but to also help grab the audience's attention. Having
a simple but catchy logo will get people's attention but also so they can easily remember it

23. MINDMAP – TEMPLATES OF VEHICLES
I want my brochure to include templates of a variety of vehicles old and new from the year 2000 to 2020 as
I believe this is the vehicle age range most people have. Also if any of my audience was to have an old car
that was in between any of theses years they wouldn’t feel left out.
However I might change the year of which vehicle is from and do it so that it includes templates from cars
of any year, but I'm still unsure on whether I should do that so at the moment I am going with cars
between 2000 and 2020.
25. MINDMAP - LOGO
When thinking about the logo fo my brochure I will make sure it is a reasonable size so that it stands out
from the rest of the brochure. However I will make sure the logo is easy to read and so I plan on using the
font Arial black to help make the logo look readable but also big and bold.
I will look to use some shapes or a type of design to help the logo stand and capture the audiences
attention.
27. MINDMAP - COLOURS
When considering to do my brochure I plan to use a variety of colours, this will consist of a range of dark
colours such as black and red to bright bold colours like white, blue and green.
Using these colours will help to make things in the brouchure stand out and catch the audience's attention.
However when considering the colours and the audience's attention, I will need to plan out how I will use
each of these colours for the brochure as it can affect the look and how it catches the audience's eye
When using colour I also need to be mindful of not using too many colours, as I will need to be specific on
what and how things stand out otherwise people will not take in the information on it.
29. MINDMAP - INFOMATION
Looking at the mindmap I will make sure to include a range of information on my brochure such as a context
page, pricing, the types of wrap used on each design within the brochure, information about the company,
telephone number, website and social media links.
I plan to use these specific types of information as they are usually put on brochures as this helps customers to
get in contact and also view what a business is about, other vehicles that have been completed and potential
ideas. Also they are key and relevant information which will also help me catch the audience's attention. These
types of information are quite important for my brochure as they are what the brochure is mainly made from.
When writing this type of information in my brochure I will need to consider how I write it out and its layout
within the brochure as it could affect how I grab my audience's attention.
