Working Title:
TA Car Graphics Studio
I have chosen this name as it has my initials TA, but also relates to what the business is but also
it is something that I would like to call my business in the future if I get the opportunity.
When searching for businesses on the Internet with google search when someone searches for
car graphics google will bring up selection of things that have these key words in and gives you a
list of companies and websites, images etc related to what has been put in the search engine.
Therefore, by having Car Graphics in the name it will help to bring the business up when
searching on the internet.
Some companies pay additional fees for google ad words which are similar search engines to
help push companies to the top of the search list when people enter things into google search
box. This is so that it can help with growing the business with more customers which in turn helps
to make more money.
Audience:
My target audience would be 17+ as this is the age you are legally allowed to drive a car in the
UK.
The challenge for young and or new drivers is the cost factor this is because Car Insurance can
be very expensive to start off with. Then by adding wrap to a vehicle it can sometimes be classed
as a modification. Some Car Insurers will sometimes add an additional charge for this. Putting
wrap on a car has its own cost the two together makes it very costly for younger drivers.
However people of a younger generation may be more interested in bold graphics on a vehicle
but older generation may like a subtle wrap putting on car depending on what you would be
looking to achieve e.g. making a statement through design or preventing their car from getting
chips in the paintwork on the bonnet or bumper.
My project would be suitable for all types of genders as there are many different designs that can
be done to suit individual tastes.
My project will be suitable for all status groups as many people from all status groups own a car at
least as it is seen as a vital type of transport to have, to help travel to work, college and other
places.
Furthermore, when considering my project I will need to be in the mindset of my target audience
so that I can create something that will be interest them, and include the right amount of relevant
information to help them get interested as most information on brochures can be quite boring and
only the images attract people's attention. When I create my brochure, I will make sure to include
relevant images and information.
I will need to also consider about my resources because if I use different software or do
something slightly different due to the covid 19 lockdown, it could affect the quality of my brochure
which could also affect the results of my brochure and affect how it engages the audience. So, if I
am unable to use photoshop, illustrator or InDesign I will try to use a software similar to all three,
so that it doesn’t affect how I plan to create my brochure too much. I will try to ensure that it is
close to the quality of photoshop in case I do use another software.
Rationale
The reason I have chosen this project is I am very interested in car graphics it is something that
my Dad has started to get me interested in as he puts designs on his car. I like the fact that there
are a range of designs and colours out there which suits different cars.
I also really enjoy drawing art, so I like the fact that you are able to design cars with this and learn
new skills with different software’s. Each software is likely to have its own styles.
Some of the programmes I have used have shown me different ways that we can design things
and are able to utilise to build on this project such as being able to use photoshop, InDesign and
creating pages for magazines and changing colours of certain objects on photoshop.
Project Concept
For this project I am thinking of making a car graphics brochure, that demonstrates the before and
after design through images and brief explanations.
The research will look at different companies, designs, experts within this area, how graphics is
applied to a range of different vehicles. How to apply and remove wrap and also the different
types of wrap that is available. With this I will also need to look at different car types, shapes and
sizes can affect what a design will look like.
I am also thinking of creating a survey to complete with people I know from different ages to get
ideas around whether they have a car, interests in brochures and types of designs they would be
interested in. This will then help me to build on the information and designs to put on my brochure
as I want to ensure I can capture my audience’s attention. It will also give me a better
understanding of who my audience is, and I can try and be in their mindset when creating this
project.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
When evaluating my work, I will look at the good and what I can improve on throughout from the
start to the end of creating my project. I will gain feedback from my peers and my tutor on my
work to help me improve as I am going through.
Once I have completed the project, I will talk about possible improvements I could make and also
what areas I am happy with.
My main goal is to reach a distinction by end of year two so I am keen to improve on my work as
much as possible.
