U2 album covers similarities

1. All of U2’s albums use black and white mostly. Very few covers use
colours. Most of the covers feature them. Each album has them at a
different distance from the camera. As the newer albums come out,
they get further away. This could be because they are better known
further into their career so they don’t have to show their faces as
much.
Apart from the album ‘Pop’, we can’t see the name of the group or
album too well or at all. This suggests that the group want the image to
grab people’s attention rather than their name. This however makes it
harder for people to see who the album is by.
For the images of these albums, we see the image in the centre.
‘Achtung Baby’ doesn’t have one image in the middle, it has multiples
images covering the front of the case. All the others have one picture.
‘The Joshua Tree’ has the image in the centre but the group to the side
which could suggest that the group want people to see where they are
instead of them.
