6. Idea 1
Our first attempt has a more sincere, emotional feel
to the image. The colour of the text stands out against
the black background and highlights her name but
doesn’t let it take over the focus to be on her face. In
this picture she is looking at the camera and her face
is in the centre, allowing her audience to connect
with her. She is biting her lip in the image portraying
the idea that she’s a sex idol for many men, and to
further show her power.
This was the original
picture.
7. Idea 2
This was our second initial idea of how we wanted
the album cover to look like. I decided to try it in
colour with the contrast and brightness increased,
by doing this is highlights the face more just like
Beyonce’s. The artists focus was straight ahead so
the audience are drawn in. We used a more sepia
colour for the photo as it makes it brighter and
more dramatic, the words are paler so her name
still stands out and is obvious amongst the photo.
We used a clear and bold font to make it stand out
and to get straight to the point. Her face is in the
centre of the cover so that it is easily recognisable.
This was the original
picture.
8. Primary research
I went and asked people which one they would prefer out of the 2 album covers I had created. I then took a tally of these
results to help us decide our final design. This helps me to understand the audience and to get their input.

I asked a range of randomly selected people and showed them the two different ideas I had produced and asked
them which worked most effectively. I recorded each persons decision and decided that which ever the majority
chose I would use for my digipak.
