2. The scripts CD cover is very simple yet effective to their target audience. It allows the audience to get an idea of what the band and the single is like. For example it’s in a calm surrounding and they are all looking in different directions. This gives us an idea it’s a calm and emotional song. They have placed him closest to the camera to represent he is the main singer. Whilst the others are in the background behind, still important but the main focus is the main singer. They are all wearing similar dark clothing which connotes them to be mysterious and evil. This could be ironic compared to their music. The band is easily recognisable as they have the same font on all of their merchandise which is their ‘branding’ this makes it easy for their target audience to recognise them well. The title of the song is written above the band’s name to make it noticeable and stand out showing it’s important.
3. The Saturdays album shows the bands logo as the bands name is always written the same making it easy for audiences to recognise. They also all wear similar clothing but in different bright colours to show even though they are a band they are different individuals and sound different. The camera angle seems to be a bit below the band maybe to show the band and the new album to be powerful and something new. Some of the band members have a more serious facial expression whilst others are laughing and look more happy. This could connote that the album is full of different emotions so they could have really emotional songs as well as upbeat exciting ones. The CD cover in general is simple but very eye catching and bright at the same time which makes it effective as viewers will take notice of the CD cover.
4. Rihanna’s CD cover is simple as it is of herself instead of writing her name on the front. Her target audience will be able to recognise her easily but it’s a bad idea for other people who don’t know her as she isn’t allowing herself to gain more audiences. The CD looks neat and not too over the top. They have used a lot of red on the album cover which could connate that the CD is about passion, love or another strong emotion. This gives the audience an idea that it could be about Rihanna’s own personal experiences. There is no direct eye contact with the audience which could also connote that she is upset and feeling hurt. Which tells the audience it will be an emotional CD.
5. Devlin’s CD album gives audiences who haven’t heard him before an idea of what he will be like. It does this by placing Devlin in front of a wall with ‘graffiti’ on which is in fact his name and album title. The way he is standing also tells us his music is going to be ‘gangster’ as the media portrays them as hanging around streets and graphitising. Devlin is looking away from the camera meaning he is making indirect eye contact which we could see as him being emotional which could link into his lyrics if they are written about his life. Devlin’s name is written like this for all his merchandise making it easier for his target audience to notice. Although the cover hasn’t got much on it , it still portrays Devlin as a person as well as an artist as this could have been what he was like when he was growing up and where he lived. He might want his audience to get an idea of where he lived.
6. Rizzle Kicks album cover looks like a natural picture of the two of them playing/singing to their song ‘down with the trumpets’. The picture isn’t a serious one which shows that there music will probably be fun and upbeat rather than anything with a lot of emotions. They are both wearing casual clothes and the camera angle is eye level. This shows that someone could have been following them and taken a picture which is more relaxed and casual. There name has its own brand which is easily recognisable to their target audience and even though they are new people already know who they are when they see the bands brand. The name ‘Rizzle Kicks’ and the picture suggest that they like to have fun and nothing too serious as they are young as well.
