2. In order to design a target
audience more
specifically I produced an
audience profile which is
located next to this
text...
It includes all the main
attributes of what our
target audience would be
and also what our target
audience wouldn’t be
3. As a group we are intending for an age group
of 15-30, this is because the characters and
also ourselves are all within this age range
therefore we can produce a opening sequence
involving the preferences of this age group as
we are among it as well. Furthermore this is
also the age range that are usually watching
these types of films as i have found from my
research into the first focus group that was
produced.
4. For location, this will be in any modernaverage urban locations around Britain. This
is due to the product being British and also
all characters being British and a location set
in England as well, this means it is more
relatable to an audience within England
because the structure and formality of the
area will be similar to wherever they are
located themselves and this could result in
more appeal to the opening sequence.
5. Our main target for gender is males – this is
due to males enjoying the genre more as it
includes themes such as suspense and an
action-packed narrative as well, although this
may appeal to a minority of the female
gender the majority is male. Moreover the
characters within the opening are also all
males and therefore people of the same
genre could relate to these characters more
the a female.
6. We aimed for a variety of different socioeconomic classes due to the characters
involved within the opening sequence. For
example our detective could appeal to C1 as
he is a high-working class man, however the
burglar is a young-criminal and this could
appeal to people who are E or D2 who are
unemployed (mostly young teenagers). This is
effective because it means on terms of the
socio-economic scale we target a variety of
different classes.
7. Our main ethnic group is white males, other
ethnicities may not relate to the characters
within the opening sequence as well because
they are all white. Furthermore the main
ethnic group within the UK which is our target
for geographical location is white and
therefore setting this as our target ethnicity
will be more effective in contrast to others.
8. I feel that our audience was not as effective as
it could have been in terms of our audience
profile – it would have been better if the
audience feedback was of a larger focus
group or a more educated one as the
participants within the current audience
feedback were not media students and do not
fully understand the theory within the
subject.
