2. Process
• This was my first stage in making my
practice magazine the tools and processes
used in this experiment were: The rectangle
tool was used first to captivate the yellow
rectangle you are seeing on the left. I made
two rectangles and split them using the line
tool, I created thickness using the strobe
tool by double clicking on that particular
layer. I did this to make it look a lot more
magazine authentic. I then used the text
tool For the ‘’Hushed up tricks that work
wonders’’. I’ve used this particular font as its
bold and looks well as magazine text. The
box on the right is very similar to the right,
although the colour of the font is different
to that of the box on the left and I have
done this on purpose so that they are this
two boxes specifically stick out from each
other. I have also added a picture to both
rectangles as well to advertise what is going
to be featured in the magazine.
3. Process
This is my second stage in making my practice
experiment. I have added the main title using
the text tool in a classy an stylish font to
incorporate the fishing audience. I have
coloured the text in a white colour to
compliment its red background. The red
background has been placed into stand out the
most of the entire magazine as it is the
headline, the main piece of the magazine. The
red rectangle positioned behind the writing is
there to make the white writing stand out as
well as it does and was made by using the
rectangle tool and using the colour red to fill it
in. Looking closer you can see the price of the
magazine and the date of the magazine was
issued. These were made the same as the main
headline was but in a different font made and
made to be smaller. As I believe that it don't
make the headline that significant being the
same colour as its date and price.
4. Process
This is the third stage of my practice experiment, as
you can clearly see I have added a man holding a
fish, a blue square with information and I have
added a little sub – heading on the right, with a
barcode lurking in the corner. I made the blue
rectangular box using the rectangle tool, but put it as
horizontal instead. The writing inside the blue box is
white to compliment and go with the blue box, to
make that particular piece of writing to stand out.
The writing was made via the text tool and by
viewing it you can clearly see the writing is of
different sizes. The writing with the most importance
is the biggest so by just looking you get drawn to the
£35 k, as it’s the biggest thing on the blue box. The
fonts also differ from the writing to the numbers as
you can clearly see. The information on the right or a
sub – heading is telling something of importance of
the contents of the magazine. The ‘’Pop – ups’’ bit is
bigger than the rest of the lettering because it’s the
most important piece of information there and its
trying to tell you that, that’s what’s Inside. All the
lettering for this was done obvioulsy through the text
tool, and looking closely you can see that the pop –
ups bit is slightly black and that is because I was
trying to get it to stand out more, this was done
using the strobe tool.
5. Process
This my final stage of my practice experiment. As seen
I have finished my magazine with a big rectangle at
the bottom of the magazine cover, to add authenticity
to the cover. The rectangle has been created via the
rectangle tool, but like the yellow boxes at the top of
the page, I have sliced them into two separate
squares although you can’t see as I’ve placed a image
to cover the line separating the two. On the left side
of the red block There is some enticing information to
intrigue the audience into purchasing the magazine.
We can see by looking at the information that the
letters are in a yellow color and the font is bigger than
the rest of the sentence. The words used as well are
also very striking this is clear to see that all the things
I have used is to entice the audience to buy. I have
obviously made the yellow font using the color tool,
and I have changed the font throughout as the first
couple of words are a different font to the rest. On
the right you can see similar looking writing to that of
the writing on the right, this was made via the text
tool and I have used the same font as the ones on the
left. Finally there is a image in the center of the
rectangle and that is stood there to advertise a
particular article of the magazine.
6. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will be taking a lot of the elements from my experiments as all of the elements that I put into my
magazine were interesting points and would suit any magazine going forward. Although For my final
magazine I won’t be doing a similar style, like a fishing magazine, so the layout of my final magazine will
be different, the content that will be included will be different, the name of the magazine will be different
but the same things such as the plugs the headliners, will stay same and will be put into my final piece
