2. Process
This is my first stage into my final production
and I have started with creating a selling line.
I have made this first because I believe that
Itâs a great starting point for my magazine. I
started off my selling line by putting down a
long teal rectangle and used that via the
rectangle tool located 3rd tool from the
bottom. I made the writing using the text
tool and used a specific font for which I find
professional and perfect for my audience for
gamers. I made the text the right size to fit
into the teal box to make it look a lot more
professional and important. The writing was
colored white as it compliments the teal box
rather well and follows the main theme of
my magazine, as the majority of my
magazine we consist of either teal or white.
3. Process
This my second stage in my final production, as you
can see I have placed a background in, which will
be clearer as we move on. The main difference as
seen from this screenshot from this one from the
last is that I have added two game symbols the
Xbox one and the PlayStation one, a issue number,
a date and the main name for the magazine. As
you can clearly see all the things I have recently
just mentioned are all white to contrast with the
teal background that is briefly shown. The Xbox
logo and the PlayStation logo were imported from
the internet but were colored and made a bit
smaller by myself. The ââIssue 1, January 2017ââ was
created via the text tool and whitened to fit with
the rest of the color scheme, the writing also
creates authenticity as it suggests as if the
magazine was actually created. The main game
magazine name was created and made by myself,
using the text tool once again and following the
same font style throughout but was made at a
significantly higher font. The writing was once
again scripted in the color white to match the
scheme.
4. Process
This is my third process of my final magazine cover. The
newest improvement I have made a plug for my final
product as shown in this particular image. The plug is
made to attract the audience with the circle based
pattern. The circle was made using the circle tool a lot
like the rectangle tool I have used previously. I created
the writing inside the circle using the text tool which I
have used throughout my magazine. The writing was
colored to fit the rest of the tone of the magazine. And
was presented in all capitals because it is out there to
succumb the audience to looking closer to the cover of
the magazine. Going back to the plug that was made in a
teal color like the rest of the magazine, but was faded
and made to look more transparent then the rest of the
things presented on the front of the magazine as it
shouldnât stand out more than the main headline or the
main image. The circle also has a black strobe to it as
outlined on the circle and that is there to make it stand
out more.
5. Process
⢠This is the 4th stage of my process, not a lot
different from the 4th side but a subheading
is being shown. This subheading is hinting
what is included in the magazine whilst not
giving that much away, only suggesting that
a few game reviews will be present, but it is
enough to get the interest of interested
gamers. The writing that is made here is of
different colours, from white to black. It is
made from the same font as the rest of the
magazine cover is. The text was obviously
created through the text tool. The text is
made to be different colours because the
games in black are easier to spot and are
different colours to that of the rest of the
magazine so you spot the three lines pretty
much straight away, you get drawn to the
page. The background can nearly be seen
fully here and that can be made out to be
very cinematic and a great game magazine
cover.
6. Process
This is the 5th part of my final production. We can
finally see my background that I have placed under
my game, as my cover art and now hopefully
understand the teal and white colour scheme that is
present. I have added a main headline, that being
the name of the game that is shown on the
background of the magazine. The background has
been imported from the internet, which shows as itâs
a 4k image. The headline is highlighted in the strobe
in the colour teal to make it stand out more than just
being on its own and less effective. Looking
downwards you can also see that I have created little
blue circles using the circle tool. I have made these to
make the magazine look a bit more professional but
fit my audiences style hence they are coloured that
of teal instead of a adult black. The writing
confronted next to the bullet points was made by
using the text tool and was coloured like the rest to
make the colour scheme fit. I havenât made the font
too big as it would overpower the main bit Iâm
actually trying to show. You can also see that I have
incorporated a barcode with a price tag above to
show authenticity for the magazine, seem like its
actually buyable. I got the barcode of the internet
and I made the price via the text bar on Photoshop
but once again not too big as I donât want it
overpowering anything.
7. Process
This is my final process stage in my production. I have
added one last thing to complete my magazine cover and
much like the other things that I have made for my
magazine cover this is equally effective. As you can see
three feint images can be spotted at the bottom and a
feint arrow as well. I imported the images of the internet
and used the opacity tool to make them feint and make
them look less clear as they donât look like they are the
most important thing on the magazine cover, which they
arenât. The arrow was made the same as how the images
were and have been made the same faintness. The
pictures are of separate distance apart to make the
picture look more symmetrical. I have also checked that
my pictures are of the same size, so the magazine
doesnât look stupid. Also looking at the magazine in
general you can see everything is equal distance apart
from each other.
8. Process
This screenshot shows the first stage of my two page
spread. I have decided to make a game review for the
games I have advertising on the front cover of my
game magazine. As you can see from this screenshot I
have made a two page spread filling up both pages
with the review, which I will then edit images into on
the final layout of article, once placed in my
photoshop document. If you look closer you can also
see that I have included quotations of my work to
make my work look a lot more authentic.
9. Process
This screenshot is showing that I have imported
a 4k image onto the Photoshop document. This
image will be my background for my actual two
page spread as its to do with the game Iâm
reviewing and the cinematic background it
includes, makes the page spring to life. The
screenshot also shows that I have filled the
whole A3 spread with the background as I
believe the picture filling the whole magazine
fold makes for a lot more effective design and
look. It also implies authenticity to the
magazine, looking more professional.
10. Process
In this particular screenshot I am showing
that I have started my review of my game, I
have measured my columns out so that I
have a clear idea of where to write to and
how big the font and the size of the font
needs to be. I have started off my review of
the game with a quotation implying
professionism and reading through my
review you can see that. I have made all this
using the text tool.
11. Process
In this screenshot I am showing that I have
added more writing and information to my
review keeping that column distance as the
magazine suggests. I have made all this
writing using the text tool and crafting that
in the same font that I have used for the
rest of the review as I want the writing to
look professional and good looking.
12. Process
In this screenshot I am showing that I
have added the main title of the
review and placed them in the centre
of the magazine. I know that the
things in the centre will go on to the
next page but I think that will make
the magazine pages look for
authentic and exciting, as its like you
have cover art displayed all over your
magazine to read. I have imported
the images off the internet and
modelled them to size. And moved
them where I would like.
13. Process
This shows my finished stage of my process
showing that my two page spread is finished. The
things I have added were some more information,
if you look to the right you can see that.
Underneath that as well you can also see two
numbers. Implying that something is out of
something, a score for something. I did the extra
writing using the text tool via Photoshop and I
made the numbers by importing individual
numbers of the internet and shaping and sizing
them in a appropriate position, so they look
effective on the magazine.
