Lesson 11
(Patterns and Finishing Touches)
Key Vocabulary: -
Pattern: A repeated decorative design.
Rectangle: Having the base or section in the form of a rectangle
Path: A route or track between one place and another.
Mirror A reflection of an image.
Overlay: Something laid as a covering over something else.
Materials: A physical substance that things can be made from.
Section 1- Rectangular
1. Select a cube and place it on the grid.
2. Select Rectangle from the pattern menu.
3. SELECT the cube, the object you are going to repeat.
4. CLICK on direction in the sub menu, then CLICK on one or two directions.
5. DRAG the cube in the directions you want the shape to repeat.
6. CLICK tick box to delete.

Section 2 – Circular
1. SELECT a sphere, PLACE it on the grid.
2. SELECT circular from the pattern menu.
3. SELECT the sphere, the object you are going to repeat.
4. CLICK on axis in the sub menu and then CLICK on the grid edge, face or
line to refer as the axis for the pattern.
5. CHANGE the number of spheres to be repeated by selecting number.
6. CLICK tick box to delete.

3. SELECT pattern then SELECT path pattern.
4. SELECT solid SELECT your object on the grid
5.CLICK on the path, then CLICK on your sketch curve and MOVE around the
curve, the solid will repeat in the curve path.
6. CLICK on the third option. SELECT path direction, the solids will repeat
around the curve facing each other.

Section 4 – Grouping
1. SELECT several shapes to cruise or snap together on the grid.
2. SELECT the grouping tool then SELECT the solids you want to group.
Note: When you go to the sub menu any option you choose will now work on
the group as a unit
3. SELECT ungroup to ungroup the objects.

Section 5 – Hide and Show
1. SELECT several shapes from the primitives menu to PLACE on the grid.
2. CLICK on the shape you want to hide, GO to the bottom menu and CLICK
on the eye. The shape will be invisible.
Note: If you want to see the shape again, GO to the side bar, CLICK on the
sixth icon, SELECT show solids, and the shape will be visible
Section 6 – Mirror
1. SELECT a cube, PLACE it on the grid.
2. Go to the main menu and SELECT pattern, then SELECT mirror in the sub
menu.
