The human excretory system removes waste from the body through the kidneys, large intestine, skin, lungs, and liver. The kidneys are the primary organs that remove metabolic waste from the blood in the form of urine. The large intestine removes undigested food through defecation. The skin, lungs, and liver also remove other wastes, such as sweat, carbon dioxide, and dead red blood cells, respectively. The urinary system, consisting of the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra, filters the blood and removes urine from the body.
