Assure monday
1. A. The class is made up of 25 high school juniors, with 16 of them being males and 9 being
females. Three of the students have mild ADHD, but there are no severe learning
disabilities. The class is 85% white, 10% African American, and 5% Latino.
S. The class will learn about the global climate and US culture before the war began with a
75% degree of accuracy. There will be a classroom discussion that will be helped by a poster
in class. In order to get a feel for both Europe and Asia, the teacher will show the class both
regions on Second Life. If time allows, students will be allowed to get on Second Life
themselves. For homework, the class will need to join the class Facebook group.
S. Students will need to listen in class and look at the poster in order to take part in the
discussion. Students will watch as the teacher shows them areas on Second Life and will
need to be able to access the game if necessary.
U. The teacher will have to make the poster in order for the students to have it. The teacher
will also have to be sure that Second Life works on the computer in the classroom and get the
Facebook page up and running.
R. Each student will have to take part in the discussion. The students will also be responsible
for volunteering for any chances to take part in the Second Life activity and they need to join
the Facebook group.
E. The students will be assessed on their knowledge with a discussion at the end of class.
There will also be points tied to participation in the Second Life program. Signing up to the
Facebook group will be mandatory as long as all parents in the classroom say that they are
okay with it. Students will be assessed the next day with a Bell ringer question.
