2. Process
First off I went to google images
online, this was an easy step, but
then I had to find a picture of
Talion the main character of
shadow of Mordor, a game that
was released in 2014, the picture I
needed had to be a render of
Talion so it wouldn’t require
cutting out from a original image,
because I found one I was able to
cut corners and so I saved time in
my work in that respect, I sized
the picture so it would fit on the
page how I wanted to fit, it
needed to be perfect otherwise it
wouldn’t be good enough.
3. Process Once I had the picture of Talion
down I needed to get the
background, so I got the picture
that Talion originated from and
placed it behind the picture of
Talion I already had placed down,
things were starting to take shape,
but I needed a title, I knew it
needed to be big and eye catching
so, I came up with ‘PC DAILY’ using
the text tool, I used stand out text
colours and then put a background
behind them, and placed red bars
above and below the title using the
rectangle tool, I thought this wasn’t
good enough though it needed
something more, so I put ‘THE
PLANETS BEST GAMING/PC
MAGAZINE’ using the text tool and I
highlighted BEST in yellow so It
stands out.
4. Process
I had the background, I had the title
but it was no where near
completion I needed content,
because without content, people
don’t know what’s in the magazine
and if you tease what’s in it people
will buy it to see what’s inside, so I
put the shadow of mordor title in
the middle to make clear that it was
headlining shadow of mordor, I
then added some information
about the magazine using the text
tool at the top right and top left of
the magazine, to show some bits of
what is to come inside the
magazine, I coloured these words
using the colour tool differently to
catch peoples eye.
5. Process
I had a bit of info, a title, a
background it was really starting to
look like a magazine, but again it
needed a bit more if I were to make
this complete, so I added a big oval
using the shape tool in the bottom
left of the magazine, it was a big
red oval and I thought I should over
lap it with a smaller yellow oval also
using the shape tool to make it look
more professional, so I did and I
loved how it looked, so then I
added some text using the text tool
to the oval and this would give
more ideas about what’s inside the
magazine, and so it really helped
make it look professional.
6. Process
Next I needed some final touches to make
my magazine cover look truly professional,
so I added some more info around the
front cover using the text tool, this would
make people want to look inside and see
what else could be found inside this
magazine, I believe this is so important to
making a magazine cover because looking
at other magazine covers this is what they
do, I also added a barcode I got from
google images using copy and paste and
which month and year this magazine was
from down below this made people know
which issue this was, this was really just
some finishing touches and it made it look
like it was a real magazine.
7. Process
Of course my magazine had to have
something inside it, I wanted to write
about what I think of For Honour, so I
did using the text tool, I talked about
how it is disappointing and lazy, I
managed to write quite a lot about it
and this shows that I am quite good at
talking and reviewing games, after this
I moved onto the other side of the
double page spread and started talking
about Shadow of War using the text
tool, the new Shadow of Mordor
game, I talked about what it could
include and why I’m excited for it, after
I did this I added a picture of Talion
from google images and used copy and
paste behind the text and then added
a background to the For Honour
section from google images to finish it
off.
