2. OBJECTIVES
•Envision dispersion of light through video
presentations.
•Explain the hierarchy of colors in relation to energy.
•Infer that red is bent the least and violet is bent the
most due to their wavelength.
3. PROCESS QUESTIONS
• What is dispersion of light?
• What is a spectrum?
• How are rainbows formed?
• What is ‘Electromagnetic Spectrum’?
• How is frequency related to the intensity of light waves?
• Which is the least and most bent among the colors of
the visible light?
9. LET US TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE
ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM!!!
10.
11. GENERALIZATION
•What results in the dispersion of light?
•What is the relationship of frequency to the
hierarchy of light?
•How does frequency affect the bending of light
wave?
12. GENERALIZATION
• Dispersion of light results in a spectrum of visible light,
namely, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
(ROYGBIV).
• The higher the frequency (shorter wavelength), the
greater the intensity or energy of light—directly
proportional.
• If frequency is lower (wavelength is longer), light bends
the least—RED. If frequency is greater (wavelength is
shorter), light bends the most—VIOLET.
13. CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING!
Short Response: ¼ Crosswise ANSWER DIRECTLY!
1. What is dispersion of light?
2. What colors are dispersed from the refraction of light? Enumerate
according to decreasing frequency.
3. Describe the intensity of light in terms of wavelength or frequency.
4. Among the colors of the visible light, what makes red, the least bent,
and violet, the most bent?
14. ASSIGNMENT
•Research on the different uses of
electromagnetic spectrum.
•In a ½ sheet of paper, give at least two (2)
uses of electromagnetic spectrum.

Editor's Notes
PRESENT VIDEO: Dispersion of Light in a Prism.
What is dispersion of light?
What is a spectrum?
When an electric field changes, so does the magnetic field. The changing magnetic field causes the electric field to change.
How are rainbows formed?
As light dispersed into different colors, these colors, actually, have different intensities or levels of energy.
Levels of energy is determined by the amplitude of the waves. Amplitude is the vertical distance between a peak or a valley and the equilibrium point.
What is ‘Electromagnetic Spectrum’? (Present Video: Electromagnetic Spectrum)
Spectrum could also mean a group of different wavelengths and frequencies.
Try to imagine life without light.
-It won’t be as colorful as that of a rainbow.
As an Urian, “Luceat Lux Vestra Nunc et Semper”,
How will you let your light shine?
How about if you let it shine now and forever?
