1. Spray type, both for sanitizing hands as
well disinfecting surfaces.
2. Gel – type, easy to carry
and only sanitize hands

3. INGREDIENTS
Spray type
1. Iso-propyl alcohol (99% or 70% available
in the market.
• Medicated in jars of 1L, 5L or drums of
20L.
2. Hydrogen peroxide (medicine shop, 3%
(10 vol) or 6% (20 vol).
3. Glycerine (90 – 100 %)
4. Distilled/fresh/ mineral water if isopropyl
alcohol is not 70 – 75%.

4. Gel from Aloe Vera leaves
Gel type
1. Iso-propyl alcohol (99% or 70%
available in the market.
• Medicated in jars of 1L, 5L or
drums of 20L.
2. Aloe Vera Gel
3. Rose Water
4. Perfumed Body oil

5. 1. Mixing Bowl (size depending on the scale of preparation)
2. Teaspoon (5 ml)/ 5ml measurer.
3. Measuring Cup
4. Whisker
PROPS REQUIRED

6. 1. Using the measuring cup, 70 ml of 99% isopropyl alcohol is to be taken in the mixing bowl/ 90 ml if the 70%
isopropyl alcohol is taken.
2. To it 5 ml or 1 teaspoon of glycerin is to be added and mixed thoroughly using the whisk.
3. Then distilled/mineral water, 20 ml is to be added if 99% isopropyl alcohol is used and mixed well. Distilled
water may be replaced by Rose water for a pleasant smell.
4. Finally, 5ml of hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) or ½ teaspoon (6% solution) to be added and mixed
thoroughly.
5. To be bottled immediately, since isopropyl alcohol is volatile and evaporates out very fast.
6. Food grade colour, 1 to 2 drops may be added prior to bottling to make it look attractive.
PREPARATION OF SPRAY TYPE SANITIZER
(MIXING PROPORTION FOR 100 ML SOLUTION)

7. 1. Using the measuring cup, 30 ml of aloe vera gel (Market variety) or volume approximately ~ 30 ml of aloe
vera from freshly cut and washed plant leaf is taken in the mixing bowl.
2. 10 ml distilled water/ mineral water/rose water may be added and whisked vigorously to make a soft paste
of aloe vera.
3. Using the measuring cup, 60 ml 99% isopropyl alcohol + 20 ml distilled water/ mineral water/rose water
may be added and whisked vigorously.
If using 70% isopropyl alcohol, 80 ml of it may be added, and whisked vigorously.
4. 15 – 20 drops of perfumed body oil/ perfumed coconut oil may be added as a preservative for aloe vera.
5. To be bottled immediately, since isopropyl alcohol is volatile and evaporates out very fast.
6. Food grade colour, 1 to 2 drops may be added to make it look attractive.

(MIXING PROPORTION FOR 100 ML SOLUTION)

8. • Pricing will depend solely on the quantity of isopropyl alcohol purchase.
Smaller packs cost more than the bulkier packs. 5 ltr bottle of 75%
medicated isopropyl alcohol costs ~ Rs 1250, i,.e. for 100 ml Rs 25.
• The rest of the ingredients like hydrogen peroxide ( ~Rs 40 per 100 ml
bottle), Glycerin ( ~ Rs 40 per 100 ml bottle), Aloe vera, Rose water are not
too pricey.
• If prepared in small scale even, it is worthy to make profit.
