2. FIRST LOCATION
Sunday 18th October 11:30am
During production, there were a few things that went wrong or had
to be changed. At Orchard Fields, the first location, there were a
couple of boggy areas preventing us from getting to certain areas
where we wanted to film so we used other areas of the field and
forest to film. During one shot on the bridge a dog walker was
approaching so we stopped filming to let them pass then carried
on. The weather in the morning was fairly dull and grey which was
fine because it fit the mood of this part of the song perfectly. We
stuck mostly to the storyboard but we had to change up a few small
details and change a few shots.
3. SECOND LOCATION
2:00pm
At my friend’s house, the second location, we ran into a problem
due to the current pandemic, on my storyboard, one scene was to
be filmed in a car but we thought it was safer to scrap that shot
entirely and replace it. The area was private so there was no issue
with the public and there was no issue with the weather as the
skies were clear. Once again we stuck to the storyboard as much
as possible but some shots like the 360-degree shot were
impossible as there wasn’t enough room on the driveway to do
this. We had to do a couple of replacement shots and also make
some shots longer to fill these gaps.
4. EDITING
The first thing did was put in the clips which took a while as I decided to do a lip syncing video which
meant I had to sync up the video with the song, I also had to cut down the clips so it only includes the
parts I want, all clips were zoomed in when I put them in the timeline so I had to scale each one down. I
also used a split shot at one point which meant scaling down both clips and changing their positioning,
there was also some colour correction I had to do on these clips. One scene I changed to black and white
as it fit the the song better which was just turning the saturation all the way down. I added text at the start
which tells the viewer the song name and also some credits at the end with a failed clip in the bottom
corner. I added in a few transitions for certain scenes and I also had to cut down the swipe up transition so
it was smooth. I added a couple of colour filters to improve the look of some scenes and to sharpen up the
lighting on others.

6. EVALUATION
Overall the final video result came out pretty good in my opinion, not how I originally planned in my head when I first
started but it came out pretty well. The core idea of my video stayed the same but certain scenes and shots were
changed during production for multiple reasons, some were specific to the location and also other things that factored
into this. I tried my best to include as many different kinds of shots and angles to vary the video. The planning process
wasn’t too difficult as I had a clear idea in my head of what I wanted to accomplish including locations, costumes, props
etc. The filming is where a lot of things changed from the original plan due to certain things such as not having enough
space to do a full 360 degree shot and the weather making certain areas in one location very boggy making us unable
to film. A couple of shots had to be done a couple of times as sometimes the camerawork was a bit shaky or one of the
actors did something wrong. The editing process could have been planned out a little bit better as when it came to
editing I didn't plan specific effects but rather just a general idea however this did allow me to play around with
premiere and discover new things about the software such as different transitions and effects which were used in the
video. There were no issues with transferring my clips and the music from my phone onto the mac then into premiere
pro. It was difficult to make each scene line up perfectly with the song especially with lip-syncing so a couple of scenes
including the second one are slightly out of sync with song and lyrics to make it fit with transition at the start of the
scene. Overall, the editing process was pretty smooth and the video has turned out well.
