1) The document describes the filming process for a music video. It discusses various roles like director, camera operators, and actors. 2) During filming, some changes had to be made to the storyboard due to difficulties finding child actors and bringing objects to the remote filming location. Additional footage from different locations could not be used due to mismatches. 3) Good aspects of filming included close-up shots, improving still shots over multiple days, and consistency using the same forest location throughout. 1. Evaluation
Filming
When we were filing for our music video we all had certain roles that we had to play when we were
doing the shooting. I was being the actor as well as doing some of the camera work with a few of the
shots that had the surrounding area, I was also the person who made sure that we booked out the
equipment for when we are doing the filming . Dan Hopkins was the director that sorted out most of
the positing of all of the camera shots. He was the guy who made sure that everyone showed up for
the shooting. He was also the person who filmed most of the footage and he also did a part of acting
in the video. Lewis did a lot of the filming as well and he also was an actor as well for the final part.
Ryan did some of the filming as well as being the person who came up with the main concept of our
music video he also was an actor on the final scene.
When we were shooting our music video we have needed to make a few changes in order to help
improve the music video. For example there was a part in our story board where we wanted to have
somebody to play me but as a child when somebody else is bullying him. But we could not find
anyone to play the child so we decided to just change my hairstyle in order to try to make me look
younger and we said it will only be a couple of months ago instead of a couple of years . There was
also a scene in which Ryan wanted to have a part with me climbing over things from the past but
then as a group decision we decided not to do it because we thought that it would not have worked
out very well. And also it would be hard for us to bring household objects into a remote area. We
were trying to get shots of the wild life of the area to put with in our music video but sadly we found
it hard to get filming of animals so we I did try to take footage from a different place but the area
looked so much different than the spot which we were filming so as a group we decided not to uses
it. There was also a lot of mud in the shrouding area this prevented us from filming in some places
which we wanted to film so some of the places in the final edit are not in the location that we were
hoping to film.
There were also a lot of good things that we have done when we were filming. For example we have
took a lot of very good extreme close up shots of trees and the surrounding area this helped make
our video edit look more professional. We have also got a lot of really good still shots which got
better as we went on filming so that when we got to the last day of the filming they were at rear
professional standard which made our edit look very good. The area of our filming was also good in
our edit because we used the same place so it look consecutive throughout the whole video which
made my final edit look more professional standard than it would look if we used several different
forest areas. Another good thing that we did when filming was we were well organised when getting
all of the equipment and people needed for our shooting this helped us with making our project
meet our dead line .One problem what happened when filming is the lighting of one of our shoots
was brighter than most of the other shots this is because most of the other shots were taken in the
evening whereas the last scene was taken midday so the lighting was off so instead of reshooting the
whole last scene again I decide I make a lighting effect in the final edit .
Edit

2. When I was making my music video there was quite a few good things that was in my final edit. One
being is the way that my sound of the music video fades in instead of going into the music in a split
second this makes the edit look more like a professional work. Another good thing that I did when
making my music video is all of my fast cuts in the video this worked well with the music because it is
a very fast paced song , but because it is such a fast paced song I was unable to make a cut every
time that the song changed its note . I have also used a few different effects when making m final
edit one of which was the tint effect which I used to emphasize the fact that a scene was in the past ,
by making it in black and white makes the watcher know that this shot was meant to be in the past
tense . I also used a basic text effect during the video just to say that a scene was “6 months earlier”.
I also made a mask to work alongside the text so that when the text came in from the side it would
disappear by going behind my head by doing this it made the video look more like a professional
piece of work. I tried to do some colour correction the entire music video to make the whole colour
consecutive throughout the video. I needed to do this since the lighting form of the groups of clips
was to bright compare to the rest. Another good thing that I had done in my music video is that all
of the cuts that I made in the edit were the right timing to the jumps in the music. I have also made
my final edit look close to what the idea was in are storyboard and all the things that we had change
has made huge improvement to our music video so I think that it is one of the good things that I
have done in my music video .
There are a few things that if I made the music video again that I would need to improve on. The first
thing would be that when we were filming the video I was one of the actors in the video which
would not be ideal for the video if we were doing it to a professional standard . If I was doing this
professional I would hire some professional actors who know what they are doing .Also I do not
think that I did a great job at the colour correction of the video I found it a bit hard because the two
pieces of footages lighting looked so different .So the next time I do it I will manage the lighting on
set I will do this by bringing lights along so it looks the same lighting throughout and always do the
filming at the same time so it looks around the same lighting throughout this will make it easier to
do the colour correction. I should have also make it begin scene fade in if I made this again in order
to make it look more professional looking.
