As I couldn’t take some pictures while filming I have resorted to using screenshots from raw footage
of videos and explain my filming Process. Here I will speak about the filming process that was taken
outside instead of inside. Just before I started filming, I adjusted the camera to the appropriate
lighting by adjusting the F stop and Aperture.
I filmed most of my clips on the 17th November as it was the easiest day for me to film because it’s
the one day in the week that I had enough time to film during the day without it being dark. So time
was a major issue for me and I had to make sure I didn’t waste time as if the footage was
unsuccessful (Which the first time it was, the camera settings were incorrect) I would have to delay
the editing and run the risk of running out of time. The Filming process outside took the longest due
to constant interruptions such as people walking by and cars driving past. Overall this took around
an hour and a half to fully complete the shots. In the filming I would do multiple takes even if the
shot went perfect just in case I may use a different one that suits the film.
Once all the shots were completed we went inside to see the quality of the shots, once we was
happy that they were in good quality and the right shots we required we were done with filming as
filming outside was done.
Editing the footage was next, this was the process that took the longest to do as I went through
multiple attempts to try and get it to the way I wanted. I had the idea of my film and editing right
from the start so I know exactly how I wanted to do but After Effects is a complicated piece of
software so it was difficult to get It how I wanted. My first attempt of filming was taken outside at
night, though this didn’t turn out well as most of the outside footage was not visible. So I decided to
go with a dark tone styled edit in After Effects. During editing I thought it would be a good idea to
add the dark tone of the outside videos that made the shot look dark to add it to all the other videos
to make the dark to make the style of the video look consistent. If I didn’t do thi s it wouldn’t have
looked as good as it would if they all had the same effect so I’m glad I made the choice to add the
effect to all of the shots instead of just the shots inside. The hardest to edit was the alleyway scene,
the reason of the effect was to try and make the shots look like they were filmed at night or at least
filmed when it was dark so In most of the frames, I had to mask the outline of the sky in every scene
it was visible so I could add an effect that would darken the sky to make it look like it was filmed in
the evening. The effect didn’t look like it was filmed at night but it did make it look a lot darker like it
was sundown which suited me.
Though the edit I am most proud with is when the main antagonist (Me) is stood in front of the wall,
this shot went through multiple styles of editing from the main antagonist just fading in with an
additive dissolve before finally deciding to make the character flicker in, this was only a few frames
at a time, this was done by making the lining up the two shots (Me on camera and me off camera) as
the camera had been moved a small amount, once the two shots were equal I turned down the
opacity on the shot without me and just played a few frames of me above the original video so it
would overwrite and play the shot of me.

Overall I am happy with my shots but if I was able to change something I would of actually shot the
scenes at night and have the camera adjusted to work well in such poor lighting, it being filmed at
night would of made the character I created look more scarier.
