2. FILMING
Technical-
Throughout filming I had no proper technichal difficulties apart
from getting the camera to focous at first.
To film my whole video I used my cannon 2000d. In some of the
shots I was in I also used a tripod which helped massivly and made
the filming process a lot easier.
Towards the beginning of the video, my actor and I did a bit of lip
syncing. To make it as procise as possible what I did was get the
song on my phone and played it out loud, so we could sing along
and the lip syncing wouldn’t be off.
3. FILMING
Logistics-
There were no major problems with any off the locations that we
filmed at, the only thing that made it a bit difficult was the amount of
people walking aroung and walking infront of the camera accidently.
When walking around we found some scenic locations to film at, like
some of the back streets we had never been down or random graffiti
walls we had never seen before.
Places like York minster were a bit more challeging to film at as it is
such a popular tourist attraction, but we managed to get the shots
we needed without been interfered with by members of the public.
The only location change that I made was instead off filming at Five
Guys I filmed at Mcdonalds as Five Guys was shut. I also didn’t end up
filming at the skate park as it was too far away, but it didn’t make a
difference as I already had enough footage.
4. FILMING
Personelle
I was very fortunate with my actress as she did everthing I asked and
was not camera shy what so ever. She turned up on time, brought the
props I asked for and wore the outfit I asked her to wear. All together
she was fer collabrative and made the filming process a lot easier.
5. FILMING
Planning
Planning ahead made the process of filming signifcantly easier, as it
saved a lot of time. It gave our day structure so we knew how long we
could spend at different locations, and also saved a lot of travelling
around as we knew which locations were close together.
Having a plan also worked as a check list as I could see what I have
filmed and what I needed to film, making sure I didn’t miss anything
out.
6. FILMING
Next Steps
Fortununatley I do not need to refilm anything for my video. One
thing I did was film more than I needed which was a massive help as I
havent had to worry about getting extra footage.
7. EDITING
What Went Well
• One thing that went well was the style of the video. The
most important thing to me was making sure it had an indie
vibe throughout as that was my chose genre
• Another thing that went well was the lip syncing as it was
very in time
• The timing of the cut to the next shot also went very well as
most of them are on the beat
8. EDITING
Problems I Had
• One thing I had problems with was the fade at the end of the music video. For
some reason the brightness would fade and go into darkness, however the
volume would just stay the same. After 20 minutes I finally figured out how to
do it.
• My aim of the video was to have short random clips to create the aesthetic I
wanted. However some of the videos were to long even when I had edited, so I
had to go back through again, cut them down and repeat some of the previous
shots to split them apart.
• Another thing I really struggled with was making the video consitent. It starts
with such a strong beginning but progressed to drop off and get a bit
boring towards the middle. What I did was delet a lot of it and added in a lot
more shorter clips to make it more intresting.
