2. Typography
Barely any text is used on this contents page. The taglines used are names of
bands and they are in capital letters. All of the text is used in the same font.
Layout/Images
There are 5 images of rock bands surrounding the small chunk of text which tell
us what page to find a particular band no. The images are all relatively dark and
one is shot in an alley, one in a dark room and another behind a window. These
things could tell us the they represent a punk/rock genre.
Colours
The text uses red and black as the only colours. The larger more important
things are used in red so they stick out more and all the other information is
used in black. The red is kind of loud and sticks out a little but the black is more
neutral. Some of the bands in the images are wearing darker colours while
others have brighter colours; this shows that they don’t all represent the same
sub-genre of rock.
Mise-en-scene
The only props used in the images are the clothes that the artists are wearing.
From the darker clothes they wear we can tell there represent a heavier, darker
rock genre and the ones who have brighter coloured clothes and hair styles are
of a more punk/rock genre.
