•Above/Below the line
Some examples of the terminology
that was new to me and learnt to help
answer the exam question.
Television, internet and radio are example of
different platforms
Regional identity is the representation of
a place on a person. Can also include
stereotypes. E.g. City people are more
intelligent than country people.
Cinematographer- Film camera, which also
serves as a film projector and developer.
4. These were the main software's that I used. I used
Power Point as a timeline, to keep my magazine progress
together in one place. I found this a good way to remember
where I was up to every lesson and my targets for that lesson.
My skills in Power Point were already well developed as I have
been using it for years.
I first used Photoshop in year 10 when I started Media Studies
and I feel that my knowledge and skills have grown a lot since.
It was a programme that you had to use to learn about it,
experience it for yourself.
Blogger was new this year. It was used instead of a folder to store our work.
It is an online book. Everything we did to do with our course work had to be blogged
If it wasn’t, it wasn’t market. Felt it had its ups and downs.
Prezi is a programme that I uploaded a few of my evaluation questions with.
It was easy to use and looked effective when finished. Never used it before and
feel I have learnt a new skill
•Power Point
•Photoshop
•Blogger
•Prezi
5. I edited the back ground and tidied up
the image. I could added a circle shape
for more effect and to draw the eye.
Things I Used:
•Adding text
•Banner
•Outline on images
•Drop Shadow
8. 1. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of a real media?
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
5. How did you attract or address your audience?
6. What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing
this product?
7. Preliminary task review comparison
Helped me to recall all the research and planning I had done over all.
Collecting everything together to discus improvements if any were
needed, most enjoyable areas, hardest and easiest areas of work.
Gives an overview of my years work from my point of view.
9. To generate ideas for my work I used mind maps and lists.
It was a good way to get my ideas out in front of me and lists
worked as a way to keep track of what I was doing. I used the
internet for market research to bring to my knowledge of existing
products that would be similar to mine.
Ideas
10. Personally hate messy filing and keep everything together in allocated folders
Media Folder
Inside Magazine
Inside TV Drama
11. This year we had a green screen to work with which wasn’t what I expected.
It was very hard to edit in Photoshop and caused a green glare on shinny objects.
I only had one photo shoot with the screen because I found a white wall worked
better and easier to edit.
I had to trim the hair
Around the face as
The green was every-
where
Had to fill in the glare
to make the guitar look full
12. Another technique
I used was changing
the lighting to improve
image quality. I feel
it got the effect I wanted
13. In my course work, sounded wasn’t used, but in my evaluation
to show I could use a range of programmes I added sound to an
evaluation question that used Prezi.
I hope to expand my use of sound a lot more next year.
14. During the TV Drama lessons we had a lot of note taking to do. I structured out my
notes with subheading and categories.

Low/high angle

15. Drafting for me was a good way to get all the different ideas
out on screen before making a decision. It also gave me an
idea of what the magazine was going to look like as a finished
product.
Nothing was permanent making swapping and changing an easy
task. I found that I always looked back at my flat plans. They gave
me positioning and layout ideas, therefore I knew where everything
was going to go.
17. • Group organisations of photo shoots and asking
for opinions
• At lot of the work was independent so no much
need for a lot of communication
• Next year I expect more people skills to be
incorporated into the course work
18. • Difficult to keep to time management as research could
be updated throughout
• Deadline were used
• I had a list of things to do to keep track of what
needed doing and when by
• This list was very helpful
19. • Detailed research into chosen genre of music video
• Go out more-city more than school settings
• More research and planning for the exam questions
• Learn a new software
• Use the blog to its potential
