Working Title:
Clear, it’s called ‘Clear’ because of two reasons. One while doing my survey I had the questions
‘What should I call my magazine?’ which I provided 3 options and a comment box. The most
popular option was ‘Clear’ So that’s what I chose. Two, the style of photography I wanted to create
needs to be clear in the photography sense and the explanation sense because the explanations
can be very complex but need to be good enough for anyone to understand.
Product’s Purpose:
The product is a magazine highlighting certain styles of photography; it’s also to inspire others to
take part in photography. It’s also to show off what I have learned about photography in the past
few months. It also will show a different perspective about certain styles of photography.
Genre:
Photography Magazine. The content I’m providing classifies as a photography magazine because
the magazine is solely photography based with elements of editing tips and camera techniques.
Content:
This product is a photography magazine. It will include many styles of photography on many
double page spreads. I will use lots of different colour schemes to highlight different styles and
layers of photography. It will also include handy tricks for photography and editing.
Research & Planning
I will be using the ideas that came from the survey and individual interviews, for instance I have
taken the name ‘Clear’ from my survey as I gave the people 3 concept names and a comment box
for suggestions, overall the name ‘Clear’ was a clear winner.
I also will use the styles that were most voted for, but it will be hard as from the survey the 3 ideas
raised were evenly split aside from ‘Surreal’ which had the most votes.
Another thing I will be taking from m research is, from the existing products. The part I will be using
is the small text boxes in the bottom left corner of the page, this is shown in the first and second
existing products pages. I will be using these because the focus of the magazine is the photos and
there should be as little as possible with the writing and explanations.
Audience:
Age: Teenagers Upwards/ 13-21. It would appeal to this age range because I believe that younger
people should be exposed to things they wouldn’t see in an educational environment.
Gender: Male/Female. It would appeal to both genders because it shouldn’t matter your gender or
race to determine what you can and can’t be interested in. My product specifically would appeal to
both gender because the work I’m producing is meant to be inspirational and an influence to
anyone.
Social Status: Lower Class > Upper Class or ABC1 C2D. I chose this specific social status
because people in these classifications will understand the photos and meaning on a deeper level
rather than the E Class people, while the E Class people won’t be as familiarised with the
technology.
Psychographic: Any Psychographic. It’s any psychographic because no one should be labelled
and confined to a certain psychographic. My particular product will appeal to any psychographic
because anyone can enjoy my productions and should have their own opinions about my works.
Sexuality: Any Sexuality. My particular product would appeal to any sexuality because anyone
can enjoy photography plus I’m shouldn’t be offending anyone with my work.
My product will appeal to this audience because anyone can appreciate photography with
their own gratitude and opinions, but also people who want to be inspired, to try new things
and take risks.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? If people can have their different views,
then they can tell me how to improve my work. Photography is a harmless medium of expression,
which is meant to capture beautiful and creative things, which others should enjoy.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? I won’t because younger audiences
should be exposed to creativity and photography could inspire the next budding photographers.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? It shouldn’t offend anyone but if it did
then it should be brought to my attention.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? I will ask others if the photography has any
offensive material, and if it did then I would focus on changing this to correct the wrong.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? I made sure the name
‘Clear’ wasn’t taken and its available so I’m ok to use it, and the logo is just the name of the
magazine so there shouldn’t be any fuss with copyright.
Will your product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for
copyright infringement? The only way I could copy existing products is using images that were
taken by other photographers than myself, so I will be doing the photography.
