2. What my magazine is about…
My magazine will be about the different art courses and apprenticeships in
Hertfordshire.
The magazine will have three separate sections - one for GCSE one for a level and
colleges and apprenticeships and the last for jobs and career paths in art.
In the magazine it will include a list of schools and how to get there for students who
get to school by themselves.
The magazine will include what the course/ apprenticeship is asking from you and the
exams and assignments.
I feel like this would be a good idea for a magazine as it can help a lot of young art
students find the correct path that they want to pursue in art.
3. Magazine Description…
The magazine will be A4 size and will be called ‘Road To Art’.
The front cover will include the title and a photograph in the main cover image will be
three different art mediums going in three separate directions.
The magazine will also include images of the schools and universities.
4. Roles…
I will be responsible for all the jobs including editing, filming, photography and
writing.
For this I will need a camera, props, tripod, photo shop and a computer system
5. Colours…
I have chosen these colours as you would link art to being expressive and
colourful. The colours don’t really go together because art is supposed to
look creative.
6. Audience…
he magazine will be mainly directed to art students preferably from the ages of
15 to 25
I think that the magazine would be typically for any gender because art isn't a
one gender dominant subject.
7. Advertisement…
The magazine could be advertised and sold at
schools, galleries, colleges and universities.
To promote this magazine I will use leaflets and
posters.
I will also use social media such as Facebook to
advertise as most of the target audience will have
Facebook due to their age
The reason I would have the magazine advertised
there is because most of the target audience be
there.
The magazine could then be sold at galleries and
local newsagents as many magazines are sold
there.
8. Prices…
I have chosen for the price of the magazine to be £2.50 as this is the average price of a
magazine.
9. Competition…
Other competition I may face is the ‘Apollo’ magazine
which is one of the most well known art magazines,
however this magazine isn’t based in Hertfordshire.
Other schools and unis such as the university of
Hertfordshire have their own magazine so this could
be competition as well.
10. Strengths And Weaknesses…
The strengths of the magazine is that the magazine will be
sold local to the school and universities offering the
courses and jobs.
The weakness to the magazine is that if the person doesn't
like any of the courses/jobs and doesn't want to attend
somewhere local.
