Task:
 Select Video to filter the choices
 Select Video (or another size)
Starting a video from scratch
You can start from your video or
create from scratch
(you can apply templates later)

Adding video clips
Media shows Adobe Stock media,
or you can upload your own. To
add media, just drag and drop onto
the document.
Task:
 Drag and drop a video choosing
from:
 Adobe stock media
 Adobe practice files
 Pixabay
 Your own files

Editing video clips (splitting and trimming)
You can drag on either end of the
clip to trim it.
To edit the middle of a clip, you
move the play head and select
split to split the clip in two.
Task:
 Trim the beginning and the end
of the video clip
 Split the clip in two and either
trim or repeat to split again and
delete the middle section

Adding more scenes with videos and photos
Task:
 Add other video and/or photos
to extend your video further
From the media tab, you can drag
and drop further media to create
additional scenes.

Adding audio
Task:
 Add an audio file to your video
From the media tab, you can add
audio by clicking on the track or
dragging and dropping it onto the
canvas.
You can also upload audio or
record a voiceover directly into
Adobe Express

Adding text and elements
Text and elements can be added
onto any scene.
Choose from preset design
elements and styled text or add
your own text and customise it.
Task:
 Add text or an element to at
least one of your scenes

Adding layers and layer timing
Task:
 Add a layer to at least one
scene and trim it by showing
layer timing
You can keep adding media, text or
elements onto a scene. Each one
makes a new layer.
By selecting Show layer timing,
you can trim and position text,
layers and groups in the timeline.

Adding animation
Animation can be applied to all
audio-visual parts of the video.
It can be added to the start, end or
repeat on a loop.
To add an animation, click on the
item you want to animate and click
Animation
Task:
 Add an In or Out Animation for
one the items on your video

Adding transitions
Transitions can be added to move
from one scene to the next.
To add a transition, click on the +
between scenes and select Add
transition
Choose the transition you want to
add
Task:
 Add a transition between two
scenes

Using templates
There is a huge choice of
templates available to use.
You can filter by style, mood
or type.
Once added, you can replace
any of the media files with
others or your own content.

Exporting and downloading your finished video
 Download your video in MP4
format
 Share it with others
 Upload it to other platforms e.g. Canvas
 Embed it in other documents
 Share a link
 Allows others to view and/or edit it
directly in Adobe Express
 Viewers can also add comments
 You can also connect to your social
media platforms and schedule posts
directly
