2. Our target audience
Our radio demo is primarily aimed at both males and
females aged between 17-24. It is a specialist radio
demo so the target audience will have a shared
interest in drum and bass music and going to music
events such as festivals and raves etc. They will most
probably be quite social people and enjoy going out
and having a good time.
3. News, weather, sport
News
For the news I talk about unemployment among youths this is a good topic
too talk about because it fits in with the target audience and it is something
that young people need to know about.
Weather
All teenager s like to know what the weather is doing so they can go out
and enjoy themselves this is important because our target audience like to
know what there going to do and wear.
Sport
Most teenagers enjoy sport and it is important to keep them up to date with
what's going on in the world of sport and it’s an important part of the news
anyway.
4. playlist
Tap Ho (TC) We chose his song because it fitted perfectly with the genre of our radio
show, this song is not that well known and is a classic drum n bass song and we
thought this song would be a good introduction to the show. Our target audience
are teens aged from 17-24 this suits our audience because it’s a different sound this
age group are keen to hear new sounds.
What can you do for me (Utah saints vs Drumsound & basslinesmith)- we chose this
song because it’s a popular song and its quite mainstream, therefore a lot of people
would of heard of it. It’s also drum n bass which is the genre of Inspire fm we thought
choosing this song would be a good idea because this station plays a lot of
unknown songs we thought if we played a well known one then it would keep our
target audience happy and keep them listening.
Oblique (Sabre & Stray) This is the best release from two of the best underground
producers, therefore not a lot of people would of heard it. We decided to end the
show with this song because again it’s a new sound and the target audience would
enjoy it.
5. Speech
During links and sections of speech on our radio demo we had
to speak in a way and talk about subjects which would keep
our target audience interested. To achieve this we used a small
amount of slang, not enough to sound chavy and uneducated
but just enough to not sound old fashioned and dull. We also
made sure that the content was interesting to the audience.
We spoke about upcoming events/festivals which may have
been of interest and new releases which the audience would
have been interested in. We also made sure we didn’t speak
for too long and that we had energy and enthusiasm
throughout.
6. Bedlam in Bournemouth
advert
This advert would be suitable for our target audience as they have a shared
interest in drum and bass and this event is a drum and bass event. It is the type of
event that they would be interested in attending and has artists playing that they
will all enjoy seeing. The age range of the target listener is from 18 to 24 year olds,
males and females.
Editing: We used audacity to put together this radio advert. We used layers for
each part of the advert. The first layer was the voice recording itself and the
second was the music, both layers played at the same time created out final
advert. This is what it sounded like.
