Dear recruiter,
I am a Marketing professional from the B-Line Marketing and Advertising graduate class of 2010 of Cape
Peninsula University of Technology. I am intensely customer and brand oriented, and I have developed
a strong passion for providing the best client satisfaction and competitiveness in all my work. I am able
to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive under pressure.
During my internship at Momentum at the conclusion of my National Diploma in Marketing, I also
gained experience in the following senior administrative tasks: A) Driving to the various Johannesburg
and Pretoria Momentum offices, conducting marketing material audits, purchasing, and delivering newly
designed material as required; B) Researching daily developments in the insurance industry as well as
competitors’ marketing activities, and presenting these to the Marketing department on a weekly basis
as instructed for the Marketing planning; C) Compiling weekly expenses reports, using both manual and
electronic quotation/invoice/delivery-note filing systems; D) Attending Marketing department and
interdepartmental meetings, giving input concerning various projects, and drafting meeting memos and
minutes for the Marketing department’s use; E) Conducting internal interviews and writing two articles
for the bi-annual Momentum newsletter, one about the Project Planner’s great help during the merger
between Momentum retail and Metropolitan retail, and the other about the Sales department’s recent
process adaptations for the merger as well; F) Launching and coordinating “Chill-Out Thursdays” (a
month-end staff social gathering that was not being held for months and used to be called “Fun
Fridays”), creating internal communications for these events in line with the Momentum Corporate
Identity policy, and sourcing suppliers for beverages, food, entertainment, and prizes for the events; G)
Planning and coordinating teambuilding excursions for various business departments when requested;
H) I was appointed to develop the scripting for the Live Person and Live Engage live chat platforms, now
being used worldwide in the Financial Services and Customer Service industries; I) I was also
commissioned by the Head of Marketing to represent Momentum on his behalf on the panel of
Branding executives, at the final Momentum Retail and Metropolitan Retail rebranding meeting, to give
input concerning the new branding now being used for the merged retail insurance service provider.
From 2007 to 2010 whilst completing my National Diploma in Marketing, I was appointed as the Music
Coordinator of my church. This coordinator role required me to plan the congregation’s music projects,
keep the monthly music programs updated, and to delegate tasks to my fellow music leaders in the
congregation updated as well (orchestra, choir, children’s music, tuition, and organists). I am now active
as a Music Advisor in the greater Cape church district.
