1. Concept
With my skating video I have taken a lot of inspiration from Luis Mora, who is a
Youtuber who makes really well made videos/edits/documentary's. As you can see
with the pictures, he has made the sky turn into a clip from an anime which works
well with making the clip more interesting and colourful. I am going to attempt and
try out this technique because I feel like I could make this and put my own twist to it
because you could put a lot of emotion into this type of editing style with changing
the sky or buildings around the person in the clip. The picture on the right also
changes into the background turning into the full image which uses a fast zoom in as
if it is trapping you into that massive amount of colour. I would use this technique for
cuts or transitions because it could turn into a really good transition if you change the
sky into the next clip so it looks like you are being pushed into the next clip.
2. Concept
This type of editing is a lot easier than the other one because when you overlay a clip on top of
my video I can turn down the volume of the clips so that it is more see through and then the
other clip can come through it to make this effect. I feel like this technique could be used for
fading into or out of different clips making it add time on to the video but also adding a whole
different vibe into it as well. In the video I am taking inspiration from, the beginning is filled with
the editing and slow music which builds over time into the non-edited skating other than a
grainy filter on top. But this introduction sets the chill and calm vibes going into the skating
which is a complete contrast because the skate clips are crazy which switches you emotions
from chill to hype pretty quickly. I don’t really like depressing skating videos but this video made
it look really good and didn’t try to be edgy or anything like that. So I am going to try and follow
that same vibe without being too edgy or try hard in the type of genre.
