2. Process
To begin with I first imported the video that I
wanted to add effects too into Adobe After
Effects. I then clicked the brush at the top of the
screen. I then changed the duration to single so
that every time I draw on the video it would only
show on that one frame and it would all ran out
smooth. I then drew on the first frame of the
video and then went to the next frame and so on
by using the Ctrl and arrow to change to the next
frame and continued to draw on these frames
using the brush tool
3. I then continued doing this line effect on other videos
so that I could get use to it and draw on different parts
of the video by using the brush tool so that I could
experiment and see which I like best
To begin with I first added a null object to the eye
in the video I then created a shape layer to put
over the null to cover up the eye and then I had to
create the tracking motion so that it would follow
the eye and then apply the motion tracker. After
that I then added a stroke to the shape object as
well as adding a black glow to make his eyes look
blacked out and weird
4. I first used the pen tool to draw around the first
eye and the clicked “M” to make it into a mask. I
then did the exact same to the second eye I then
right clicked on the first mask so that I was able to
track the mask however this was still a bit off to
how I wanted it so I went to each frame and
changed the mask to where I wanted it to be and I
did this for both eyes. I then finally added a blue
stroke and added a glow effect to the eyes.
After exporting this i thought it’d be cool to have
the eyes shining light out of them so I did this
again and added a cc light burst 2.5 effect and
played around with the length until I got it unit;
how I like it. Then to end the video I used the
paint brush tool and drew some red lines along
the artist then I exported the video as I was happy
with it
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
Some elements that I will include will be the line effects and also the
glowing eye effect as these are very common in hip-hop videos so I will
use similar effects so that my video is conventional to the genre and it
actually looks like a hip-hop video. I think I will use the line effect as this
is very commonly used with in the genre and the audience will be use to
seeing similar effects like this as it is popular within the conventions of
the genre. I’m going to include the glowing eye effect because this will
attract my target audience. I will use these effects because they’ll attract
my target audience as my target audience will want to see these sort of
effects as they’re quite different to usual music videos and mainly just
used in the hip-hop industry.
