I am comingto the endof the editingstage andthe videoisnearcompletion.
Improvementson feedback
From the feedbackIhave received fromthe restof myclass about my musicvideo, Iwill change and
improve some of myshotsto improve my video.
Throughoutediting,Ihave improved onthe pointsthattheyhave made:
 I have changedthe shotsthat were 75% black andwhite to 100% blackand white to
establishthe difference betweenthe twoworlds.
 I re-filmedthe argumentscene withbetteracting,sothatthe scene looksauthentic.
 I have filledall the gapsinmyvideosothat the visualsare complete.
 I have includedanotherpeace symbolasgraffiti usingPhotoshop.
Peace Symbol
To match to the lyric,‘Andthe worldwill live asone’ - andto meetone of the pointsthatmy class
gave duringfeedback - I usedPhotoshopagainto show a graffiti style peace symbol sprayedona
wall andan image of the world. I founda YouTube videoonhow tomake it.
I had to make a back colourfor the image,whichIwouldsave anduse later.I uploadedthe image of
the wall and pressed control shiftand ‘u’onthe keyboardtodesaturate the colourand alteredthe
levelsbypressingcontrol and‘L’.

2. I broughtup the peace symbol ona separate tab and highlightedthe image withthe magicwand
tool and copiedandpastedthe image ontothe wall. I adjustedthe image asthe symbol wastoo
small to be seenbythe audience.
To make the image looklike graffiti,Ihadtoalterthe layeranduse a varietyof settings. Iusedan
‘InnerShadow’,‘OuterGlow’, ‘GradientOverlay’ anda‘Stroke’whichalteredthe coloursandthe
depthwithinthe image.

3. Afterthat I convertedthose layersintosmartobjectsbyrightclickingthe layeratthe side andthen
displacedthe image byclickingon’filter’and‘distort’andthen‘displace’.
I thenalteredthe layeragain, butonlyonthe blendingoptionsonthe underlyinglayer soIcan blend
the image intothe wall.

4. I didthe same techniquestothe worldimage butalteringthe colourof the worldto blue. Thisismy
final image thatI will place intomymusicvideo.
Argument Scene
I filmedthe argumentscenesagain asIwasn’thappywiththe qualityof the shotsI previouslyhad.
I importedthe mediaintothe ProjectMediafile andaddedthe footage intothe musicvideotoedit.

5. I alteredthe orderandcut downthe shots, sothat the two shotsthat I tookflowedtogether. I
slowedsome of the shotsdowntoconnote how time ispassing.
Fillingthe gaps and filters
I have nowcompletedthe visualsforthe song sothat there isno gaps. I now needtoadd filtersto
some of the shotsto make theminterestingandmore aesthetically pleasing.

6. I brightenedthe sceneswhere Ienteredthe woodsasthese were darkandmade the shots look
gloomy.
To add additional filters,Iusedthe ‘Magic BulletQuicklooks’whichshowslotsof effectsthatcan be
addedto a particularframe.

7. For the scene above,Iuseda ‘Blackand White Crunch’ on the ‘Magic BulletQuicklooks’ tomake the
blackand white scene lookedcrisperanddarkersothat there ismore detail tothe shot.
Also,afterlookingbackatthe time lapse of the sky,the videowastoopixelated - asIhad rendered
the videotoomanytimes. I resolvedthisbyusinganearlierversionof the videothatisn’tpixelated
but the cloudsdon’tmove as fast howeveryoucanstill see the movementof the clouds.
The videoisnowfinishedtothe bestof myability andI have enjoyedseeingthe projectcome
togetherthroughall the differentstages. Ihave usedavarietyof techniquestobringthisprojectto
itsconclusion. Some skillsIalreadypossessedandsome Ihave learntalongthe way.
