Analyze the Learners
- Teaching how to write a how to essay to 9th graders. There are 23 students 12 girls, and
11 boys. English speaking. Reviewing skills to verify students essay skills.
State Objectives
- My students will choose a topic for their how to project to complete the lesson and
conduct research for their topic.

Utilize Media and Materials
- To begin the class I will introduce the how to essay by showing them an example of the
project they will do for the end of the lesson. I will use YouTube to show a video I made.
Then I will give the students and brief overview of an expository essay using the poster I
made using PowerPoint. Then the students will conduct some research on the computer
about what their expository topic will be. They will use GoogleDrive to share their ideas
with other classmates. Finally, I will use a QR at the end of class for the students to get
their assignment for the evening.

Evaluate and Revise
- I will evaluate my students by having them put their ideas on GoogleDrive. Their topic
will show me that they understand what is an expository (how to) essay and having
2. something on GoogleDrive will tell me that they understand how to collaborate and use
the web 2.0 app.
