Assure Method – 
Analyze learners – 6th grade class, 16 students, 3 with ADHD, 70% White, 15% African 
American, 10% Hispanic;75% on grade level or above 
State Objectives - My students will describe in chronological order a detailed explanation of 
Christopher Columbus’ life through the use of QR codes, Voki’s, blogs, WebQuests, posters, 
YouTube videos, storytelling videos, podcasts, robots, and other helpful materials with at least 
85% accuracy by the end of the day. 
Select methods, media, and materials – All forms of learning will be utilized because different 
people learn different ways. There will be much technology involved. 
Utilize media and materials - Completing different types of assignments make the classroom 
more exciting and students will be engaged in it more. 
Require learner participation – Because it gets the students active in the learning with the fun, 
different ways of learning, it automatically has all learner participation. Giving the students 
choices when doing an activity only involves them more. 
Evaluate and Revise – Students will be evaluated not only on the assessments specifically 
marked “assessment”, but they will also be watched in the classroom. It is the teacher’s 
responsibility to ensure every student is succeeding and if one is falling behind, you help that 
student. It is also important to give praise for work because without it, it can be discourage them 
to learn when the whole point is motivation. Students will always have the chance to revise, 
because without having the opportunity to do so, they may never learn from their mistakes. 
Thursday – Though assessing is seen every day in the class because teachers always need to be 
taking mental notes of how certain students are doing or what has been improving/going 
downhill, this day will be assessment day. Students should have no trouble writing down ten 
facts they have learned throughout the week. They also will be evaluated on the Twitter 
assignment presented today. Once the presentations are over, students will individ ually complete 
a WebQuest. They will understand what a WebQuest is, what its function is, and how it is 
important in the classroom. Since there are so many activities the students are actually being 
engaged in, they are learning more. Visual aids help, which is why I played videos or created an 
example of each assignment so they will have a better understanding of it in order to complete it. 
Finally for Thursday, they will continue with their robot.

Assure Method Thursday

  • 1. Assure Method – Analyze learners – 6th grade class, 16 students, 3 with ADHD, 70% White, 15% African American, 10% Hispanic;75% on grade level or above State Objectives - My students will describe in chronological order a detailed explanation of Christopher Columbus’ life through the use of QR codes, Voki’s, blogs, WebQuests, posters, YouTube videos, storytelling videos, podcasts, robots, and other helpful materials with at least 85% accuracy by the end of the day. Select methods, media, and materials – All forms of learning will be utilized because different people learn different ways. There will be much technology involved. Utilize media and materials - Completing different types of assignments make the classroom more exciting and students will be engaged in it more. Require learner participation – Because it gets the students active in the learning with the fun, different ways of learning, it automatically has all learner participation. Giving the students choices when doing an activity only involves them more. Evaluate and Revise – Students will be evaluated not only on the assessments specifically marked “assessment”, but they will also be watched in the classroom. It is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure every student is succeeding and if one is falling behind, you help that student. It is also important to give praise for work because without it, it can be discourage them to learn when the whole point is motivation. Students will always have the chance to revise, because without having the opportunity to do so, they may never learn from their mistakes. Thursday – Though assessing is seen every day in the class because teachers always need to be taking mental notes of how certain students are doing or what has been improving/going downhill, this day will be assessment day. Students should have no trouble writing down ten facts they have learned throughout the week. They also will be evaluated on the Twitter assignment presented today. Once the presentations are over, students will individ ually complete a WebQuest. They will understand what a WebQuest is, what its function is, and how it is important in the classroom. Since there are so many activities the students are actually being engaged in, they are learning more. Visual aids help, which is why I played videos or created an example of each assignment so they will have a better understanding of it in order to complete it. Finally for Thursday, they will continue with their robot.
