2. Corona virus infection is called COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) and was first discovered in the
city of wuhan, China at the end of December 2019. The virus is transmitted very quickly and has spread to
almost all countries, including Indonesia, in just a few months.
Coronavirus is a collection of viruses that can infect the respiratory system. In many cases, this virus
only causes mild respiratory infection, such as flu. However, this virus can also cause severe respiratory
infections, such as lung infections (pneumonia).
There is many speculation about how to prevent covid 19 such as a hot shower can prevent the corona
virus. But in fact according to covid19.co.id the official website of the republic of Indonesia that discusses
covid 19 a hot shower cannot prevent you from COVID-19.WHO said "Your normal body temperature stays
around 36,5o
C to 37o
C regardless of water temperature. Actually, bathing with very hot water can be
dangerous, because it can burn the skin. The best way to protect yourself from covid-19 is to wash your hands
frequently with soap and running water or when the running water is not available you can use cleaning fluid
made from alcohol (60%)".
I deliberately chose this theme because the corona virus is a plague that is affecting almost the entire
world with a very high and rapid infection rate. And also because i want to know what are the facts about the
corona virus and other people's opinions about this virus.
Seeing the percentage of deaths like that, Lecturer of the Department of Public Health Sciences from the
faculty of medicine, padjadjaran University, Dr. Panji Hadisoemarto MPH, was not suprised. According to him,
the main problem is that Indonesia is likely to be under-diagnosed. "So, there are cases of covid-19 infection
that are not detected of diagnosed. Maybe it's because the pain is mild, maybe it's because the hospital or the
doctors isn't aware that it's Covid-19, and other reasons. Some of those who are undiagnosed may also die."
Panji said as quoted by TribunMataram.com from kompas.com, Wednesday 18/3/2020.
Goverment spokesman for the handling of the corona virus Achmad Yurianto said "the goverment
implemented a policy of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to prevent Indonesia's potential to become a
new epicenter of the spread of Covid-19". Previously reported, after America and Europe, Southeast Asia was
said to have the chance to become a new epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic if the outbreak was not controlled.
The Regional Director of WHO in the Southeast Asia region has issued a media briefing as a caution and
cautionary suggestion for countries in Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, the rampant forced pickup of patients from COVID-19 patients from the hospital was
disturbing by many people. One of them happened in Makassar, South Sulawesi. "Four incidents have occurred
in a very close time all together. The forced pickup of the corpse of a PDP patient was very dangerous because
the virus could spread. Therefore, extra security has been carried out," said South Sulawesi Regional Police
Head of Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo in Makassar,Thursday. June 11, 2020.
Referring to these data, the case fatality rate by age group is as follows:
0-5 years : 2.3%
6-17 years : 0.6%
18-30 years : 0.8%
31-45 years : 2.4%
46-59 years : 8.7%
> 60 years : 17.7%
Of all COVID-19 sufferers who died, 0.9% were 0-5 years old, 0.6% were 6-17 years old, 3% were 18-30 years
old, 12% were 31-45 years old, 39.9% aged 46-59 years, and 43.6% aged 60 years and over. Whereas by sex,
62.2% of those who died from COVID-19 were male and 37.8% were female. "We get 577 recovered cases, so
then the total is 13,213 people," Yuri said at a press conference at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Friday afternoon."48
people died, bringing the total to 2,048," he said.
3. Goverment Spokesman Achmad Yurianto said that the COVID-19 case and handling data were different
and could not be compared to other countries. That is because several factors that influence such as the level of
epidemiological threats are not the same. "It cannot be in full compared with other countries, because indeed the
level of epidemiological threats is not the same," said Yuri at the Media Center Task Force for the Acceleration
of Handling COVID-19, Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta, Saturday (13/6) .
Last time, at the very least, COVID-19 is a very deadly virus but by obeying goverment regulations and
by praying to GOD we can get through all this.
