2. The Corona infection virus is called COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) and was first discovered in
the city of Wuhan, China at the end of December 2019. This virus is transmitted very quickly and has spread to all
countries, including Indonesia, in just a few months.
This makes some countries implement policies to enforce locking in order to implement Corona
application. In Indonesia, a Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy was implemented to prevent the spread
of this virus.
Coronavirus is a collection of viruses that can infect the respiratory system. In many cases, this virus only
causes mild respiratory infections, such as flu. However, this virus can also cause severe respiratory infections,
such as lung infections (pneumonia).
In addition to the SARS-CoV-2 virus or Corona virus, viruses that are also included in this group are the
viruses that cause Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and the virus that causes Middle-East Respiratory
Syndrome (MERS). Although caused by viruses from the same group, namely coronavirus, COVID-19 has some
differences with SARS and MERS, including in terms of the speed of spread and the severity of changes.
Scientists from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) predict the Covid-19
outbreak in Indonesia is entering its peak and will end in June 2020. The predictions made by the Data-Based
Innovation Laboratory (DDI SUTD) are displayed on its official website with the title "When Covid -19's over? "
Head of Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force Doni Monardo revealed, there is a new strategy
undertaken by the government in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to taking a medical approach to
deal with positive patients, a psychological approach is also taken as a preventative measure. According to him,
this was important because the number of medical personnel and health infrastructure owned by the government
was limited. Thus, the balance of medical and psychological steps needs to be done in tandem.
