Harry wrote articles in Word and laid them out in a double page spread in Photoshop with columns. He edited the articles by removing unnecessary information and adding more important details. 2. Process Day 1
I finished writing my articles in word.
Tomorrow I will copy and paste them to
my double page spread and put them
in the right columns.

3. Process Day 2
I started making my double page
spread and laid it out with columns.
Then copied my articles into them. I
touched some of my articles up by
taking out unnecessary information and
adding more important bits in. I made
the article titles bold and italic
I made my front cover template in
Photoshop so I was prepared to start
my front cover the next day.

4. Process Day 3
I started making my front cover. I
went to the car park and took a
photo of my car using my phone.
I put the image into Photoshop and
used the spot removal tool to
remove any unneccessary marks,
which made it look clean and
professional. I edited the number
plate by copying the straight line of
the J to make it a U, and to make the
C’s into O’s.
I used the burn tool to get rid of any
sharp edges and make the curves

5. Process Day 4
I continued making my front cover. I made
the masthead and one cover line using fonts
which I downloaded from da font. I used
Photoshop fonts to create the rest of the
cover lines.
So far I think it looks shocking because there
are too many font colours making it
inconsistant. Also, the font sizes are
different because I wanted to fill spaces on
the page. I will reduce them all to the same
size to make it consistent.

6. Process Day 5
I deleted all the cover lines and re-wrote
them. I merged two cover lines into one
so it didn’t take too much space, making
the image clearer to see as well.
I made the font sizes and colours the
same so there’s more consistency. I
decided not to use the Bevel and Emboss
tool because I thought it would make the
text too bold.
This makes the front cover look better
because it doesn’t look as busy.

7. Process Day 5
I decided to change the layout of my
Double page spread because there were
too many columns and the images would
have needed to be small to fit in them.
The new layout looks a lot better and a lot
more organised. It looks bigger than the
original layout and there’s more room to
put images in.

8. Process Day 6
I used the internet to find images of different first buyer cars. I put
them into Photoshop and set them out evenly between each other.
I tried using the magic wand and polygon lassoo to get rid of any
backgrounds, but both didn’t work.
I tried changing the background colour, but the colour changed
between each image, which I didn’t want to happen.
I screenshot this and put it into my double page. I wrote the name
of each car underneath the image so the reader knows what the
car make/model is.

9. Process Day 7
I added some background colour to make the double
page stand out and draw in the reader’s attention. I
had an issue where one colour overlaps with another,
which made it look odd. I deleted the green box so
the whole section was orange.
I re-arranged some of the text to put it in a sensible
order.
I made a second double page spread and moved one
of the articles into it, so I can fit more images into
both pages.

10. Process Day 8
I decided to make a second double page about
useful breakdown equipment. This was so I could fit
more images onto both pages.
I went on the internet to find different useful
equipment. I put them into Photoshop and cut
round the backgrounds using the magic wand and
polygon lasso. Then I used the pen tool to create a
shape and put the text in, which I copied and
pasted from the first double page. I resized the text
so it would fit around the images.
Finally, I changed the background colour to orange
which makes the images and text stand out.

11. Process Day 8
I decided to add a list of
comparison websites to the
insurance article.
I deleted the green colour because it made
the page look odd. Then I moved the text
lower so I could fit a title across the top of
each page. I stretched all the colours so it
filled the white gap between the pages
because it looked odd with the ‘O’ in the title
against two colours.
