1. I took an image of Dean and used the quick select tool to select him
from the background; I then used the refine edge setting to smooth
out the edges. Once I had the separate image I added a drop shadow
and painted on eyes with the paintbrush tool, which I later blurred.
I decided that a grey background would be fitting, I added this with the
paint bucket tool.
I took an the image with the filled background and added coloured
banners to separate the mast heads and cover-lines from the
background, I used the Shapes tool to do this.
2. I imported an image of a ripped page that I had edited previous to bring
out the main cover-line from background more than the rest.
I then imported a background form another photograph I had taken
and put it in the background to create different textures within the
page and make it more attractive to look at. I used a number of
different filters to make it look less like corrugated iron as well as
reduced the transparency by around 20%
I added the main masthead for the page, and positioned it in front of
the main picture so that the texts hang over the picture. I later
decided to add a faint drop shadow to give extra emphasis.
3. I added fine texts to the page with the tools and inserted the main
cover line and barcode.
Finally I changed a few fonts around and added extra cover lines.
