2. DIGIPAK
• Digipak’s usually consist of a book-style paperboard or cad
type of pack.
• This typically contains one or two sides of which houses a
CD/DVD inside.
• Digipak’s also include a track list of new songs from that
particular artist in that album.
• Digipak’s usually contain a certain image on the front of the
digipak which can be a picture of the artist or anything else
symbolic to the album or the artist.
3. CONVENTIONS OF DIGIPAKS
• A typical convention of a digipak is that it normally contains a booklet inside
containing the lyrics of the song and information about the artist and their
social media. This booklet could also show information such as live events of
where the artist is going to perform.
• Digipaks also contain the track list on the back to make the audience aware
of the names and orders of songs in their new album. Some Digipaks also
contain the record label company. Due to technology becoming an every day
essential in our lives most Digipaks contain a QR code which allows the user
to scan using their mobile phone which will take them straight to a specific
page such as the artists website or information and news about the artist and
upcoming news about the artist about certain events and live shows the artist
will be hosting. All these features on Digipaks are great ways of promoting
the artist.
4. RITA ORA - DIGIPAK
Here are some features from Rita Ora’s digipak from her new album:
• Bright Red lipstick contrasting with her blond hair which reinforces Rita’s
Quirky stylish look which her fans love to see as this is one of the main
Aspects why her fans follow her. (For her Look)
• Black and white concept which works well and helps the
Title Rita Ora stand out in RED which is the same colour as her lipstick.
• Artist being Rita Ora on the front cover which is very conventional
Of the pop genre. (As this is what her audience want to see)
5. JUSTIN BIEBER (BELIEVE) - DIGIPAK
• Here is another Digipak which I am going to analyse
from Justin Bieber releasing his new album ‘Believe’ in
2012.
• The main noticeable image on the Digipak is Justin’s
face which has played a very dominant part of the front
cover. This has been done due to Justin being very
attractive with his good looks towards his younger fans
being females.
• Unlike most Digipaks when you open this one up
instead of seeing the booklet featuring the lyrics or the
track playlist you have a montage of pictures of Justin
from the album photoshoot which again has been done
as this is what his target audience want to see.
