3. Graphic Design Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
– It’s a simple way of planning out the final product.
– It has a wide range of ways you can use creativity to
advertise products.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
– It isn’t as detailed as you want the final product to be.
– Not everyone who see’s the poster and adverts that
have been made in the medium takes much notice to
them and don’t take the time to read them as they
walk past.
4. Graphic Design Production
The Hands are both
shaped like a Cola
bottle, as they are
both visually
advertising Coca
Cola.
This one has a
plain background,
however the
other poster/ad
has a more
colorful
background.
The product name specifies
what the product is.
5. Graphic Design Production
• I used Photoshop which allowed me to create
the final product, I also used the magic wand
tool which enabled me to remove the
background from the picture, however using
the magic wand tool to remove the
background meant that some of the details on
the hands were also removed.
• I found that using Photoshop for the first time
was time consuming as I didn’t understand
how to use the software.
• In future the changes I would make would be
to change the background which can be done
by using another picture from the internet and
the colour of the font to make the graphic
design stand out and have a greater impact.
• I could also change the hands to reflect
different ethnicities.
• Finally I could redesign the product to make
the graphics interactive so that the consumer
can be involved in the design process.
6. Radio Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
– It was fun and the recording was easy to do.
– When people are listening to the radio it’s much
harder for them to avoid listening to the advert you
made because the only way they can avoid it is
changing the channel.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
– It was difficult to edit.
– All of are recorded date was deleted which meant that
we had to it again.
– Its also rather time consuming.
7. Radio Production
My radio advert is similar to the one on the right because they both have a conversation going
on, and also include music. The difference between the two radio adverts are that mine is shorter
with less detail and it doesn’t include any sound effects, whereas the other radio advert uses a
variety of different sound effects, however because my advert is a jingle within its self its already
quite musical and doesn't need to have many more sound effects and music added into it. They
both make it clear and understandable what the advert is about, which is Coca-Cola. My final
radio advert consists of two people having a conversation about Coca-Cola, at the end of the
advert it also includes a small piece of music to make it more interesting which fades in slowly
throughout the advert and fades away at the end. In the future I would make changes to
my radio advert by adding sound effects such as the sound of a bottle of Cola fizzing
or a bottle being opened, I would also change the background music so it fits in with
the advert better and also fits in with the Coca-Cola brand.
8. Radio Production
I think my radio advert went rather well, however there isn’t very much detail in it. If I was to
change something about my advert to make it better I would make sure that the audio was all
on one or two clips so that it sounds better and it doesn’t have a jump, I would also change the
music in the background so it would fit better with the content of the advert, and finally I
would include some different sound effects. The one thing I did like about my finished radio
advert was how it all came together and sound like one piece of work, I also liked the fact that
it is quite different to most Coca-Cola radio adverts that I have listened to. To make the radio
advert I used the Adobe Audition program, I used this program because it has a wide choice of
different tools and effects and because it is easy to use. I used tools such as the cut tool and
the move tool so I could cut down the sound clips, and so I could move the clips to put them in
the order I wanted them to be in, this was a strength for me when making the final piece as it
was one of the easiest things to do, especially after I understood how to use the Adobe
Audition program.
10. Video Game Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
– Easier to use as it is fun and enjoyable, which makes it engaging
– Its interactive so it requires greater focus and lead to less
distractions.
– A lot of people watch video adverts because they are posted on
TV, game ads and YouTube ads.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
– It took a long time to understand how to use the software.
– It was time consuming because each section of the game had to
be created separately.
– It takes much more effort to make and will cost much more to
put together, for cameras, microphones, computers and other
things.
11. Video Game Production
Both are the same style of
game.
The games have a similar
layout.
The colour schemes are
different.
Both have different start
screens.
12. Video Game Production
To change the product I could add more
detail to the final product to make it
more visually interesting.
I could also change the background at
the start of the game as the grey looks
dull.
The game is quite simple to
play so it appeals to
different age groups.
The game should be longer
so that I can add different
levels and make it more
interesting.
13. Comparison
• Which product do you believe advertises the
product the best? Why?
– I think the poster advertises the product the best,
because it is visually appealing to its audience it grabs
their attention.
• Which of your products is the most professional?
Why?
– I think the poster is my most professional product
because I put the most time and effort into it, and
because turned out to be the best quality and show
the best skill.
