I'm inspired to do this magazine for my final
major project because of my interest in the print
industry and the how in my spare time I like to
develop my photography skills. I like to take
pictures of modes but with fun, quirky concepts
and also photographing fashions. I also enjoy
taking pictures of architecture and I want to
incorporate that somehow.
I'm I-sired by my favourite magazine which I buy
and read, those include: Love Magazine, Paper
magazine and I-D.
3. Audience
Broad appeal
Age: 18-28
Sex: but preferred by women
Ethnicity: All ethnicities will be celebrated in the magazine therefore all ethnicities would relate.
Occupation and marital status: single and ambitious. people working in the media industries, beauty industries,
students of related topic.
Income: mid-income – starting out in a career
Characteristics: Fun, Ambitious, creative, social, passionate about their interests.
Customer:
My customer is a young female adult who is just starting out in her career in the media/fashion industry and is full
of ambitious and passion. They live a life of work and fun making the most of their spare time being social
and going to events. My customer lives in a busy modern city and wears high-end brands but also appreciates
vintage/retro pieces. My customer enjoys viewing images that are aesthetically pleasing and quirky, they
appreciate architecture and nature and viewing it through peoples different perspectives.
I chose this audience because I believe I fit in that target audience and therefore I know what they will and won't
like. Also the target audience I chose are the main buyers of fashion magazines, especially students and they'll look
at the images for ideas and inspirations for their own work.
4. Initial Reaction
For my final major project I want to create an extension of the same theme from my print
rotation. throughout the year with the work I've done, I've enjoyed most the taking pictures and
coming up with cool concepts for shoots. I've also come along way with photoshop and therefore
want to show my skills I've gained and also photoshop is the main software to use when editing
photos. I'll use InDesign for layout of my magazine, due to this software if what is used
professionally with published magazines I also want to work with InDesign more to get more
knowledge on the software.
I want to create a small printed edition, fashion photography magazine.
