Working Title:
FANTASY
Audience:
My audience is people between 16 and 25 mainly but people older may also find it interesting. It
will be for both genders but will most likely appeal to men more if there are more male models than
female. The social status I am looking to intrigue is high class or “hypebeast” shoppers. These are
usually quite well off people so I will charge a little more than normal for my magazine. My project
would appeal to this type of person because you start to work and earn money around 16 and you
can spend it on whatever you want like clothes etc. it is also the age where me and my friends
started to get into the hypebeast culture. My magazine would be more suitable for males as most if
not all of the models are males which will not have as much of an appeal to women.
Rationale
I have learnt a lot of simple and also some harder skills on Photoshop. I now know all of the basics
of Photoshop as well as more advanced skills such as how to edit people into other photos and
how to create shadows and edit text. I can use these skills to put me and my friends into images I
have used for the background and I can use the shadows to make hit look more realistic etc. it will
allow me to achieve the minimalistic look I am aiming for.
Project Concept
My project will be a men’s fashion magazine and it will include photos of models and also
information about the clothes shown in the photos and some brands. I am going to go for a
minimalistic art style and use fonts and effects which have little details but are very effective and
compliment my work. For research, I will need to look at other men’s fashion magazines,
hypebeast magazines and read into certain brands and designers.
Evaluation
To evaluate my work, I will look at existing products and talk about how my work looks compared
to some of these. I will look into my photographic and text content and see how it holds up
compares to the actual magazines. I will also have to evaluate how realistic my Photoshop skills
are on my pages where the models have to be cropped into a selected background
