In the first video "Heart Skips a Beat", Olly Murs wears casual clothes like red jeans, a t-shirt, and blue shoes to appear down-to-earth and normal. However, in the later video "Troublemaker", his style has changed to appear smarter in a suit with braces, showing his image has evolved from casual to more stylish. Over time, his fashion has shifted from modern and youthful clothes to target his younger audience to a more old-fashioned and typically British style as his audience and career have grown.

2. Olly Murs – Heart Skips a beat
Costume
In the video the location is a skate park so everyone is skating around on
skateboards wearing casual clothes. Olly Murs is wearing Red Jeans, a T Shirt
and Blue Shoes which is quite a casual and every day look. This is to make
him look down to earth and normal like an every day person. This could be
seen as different to other artists since other singers may wear more
expensive and flashy clothes, where as Olly is wearing normal clothes.

In the video Troublemaker which was made a few years after Heart Skips a Beat Olly
Murs’ Image has changed quite a bit. In the Video and in the picture above you can
see that Olly’s style is much smarter and swarve than before. He’s wearing a suit with
braces on which is quite old fashioned. In the picture on the right he is wearing
something much more casual rather than a suit but It is still stylish and quite smart
looking. So it shows that his image has changed from a normal and casual dressed guy
to an almost old fashioned English guy.

4. Comparison
• In the first video Olly Murs is presented to be quite casual
and wears clothes that are normal and that anyone would
wear, this is to target his younger audience which is
between 14-20. He is presented to be modern, young and
stylish.
• However his image changed to more old fashioned and
maybe typically British, this could be because of changing
fashion sense, changing target audiences (as his target
audience get older) and also maybe as he's got bigger as an
artist and has reached places like the US.
• Also with Olly working as a presenter for X Factor and
becoming a TV personality his style has to change and
develop to appeal to not only his fans but also general TV
viewers.
