The document analyzes conventions used in album advertisement designs. It notes that effective ads prominently display the artist/album name at the top to immediately capture attention. They also include information like popular singles, release date, and purchase options to persuade audiences. Following conventions like bold colors, house style text/logos, and including websites helps ads look professional and familiar to fans. The document suggests an advertisement for an indie band should use a simpler, less bright design suited to that genre's target audience.
2. This album advert is has a very
simplistic yet effective design
and follows a type of style that I
would like our advert to follow.
The name of the band is in bold
at the top of the screen which
makes it stand out to the
audience making them
immediately aware of what the
advert is about.
Advert Analysis
The text of the advert follows
the house logo of the band,
they use this text on most of
their items meaning that
audiences can identify by just
the text alone who the band
are. Again I feel this is an
important factor so when
creating our products we will
be using the same set of texts
throughout.
A common convention of albums
adverts is to include popular
singles so that it will persuade
people to buy the album. This is
something that we will be doing on
our album advert to follow a key
convention.
Putting the artists website onto
the album advert is a key
convention and is important as it
promotes the band more so to
their audience allowing more than
just the album to be promoted.
The colour scheme is very
simple but bold and still
manages to attract the
audience, it’s very eye
catching and draws
attention to itself without
the need of bright colours
or images. This is similar
to indie styled adverts
Another advert convention
is including what you can
actually buy with the
album, in this instance
you can purchase the
album with a DVD and/or
a vinyl. With our project
involving us making a digi-
pack this convention will
be useful.
3. Advert Analysis
Following the indie conventions this
album advert is very simplistic,
having the picture of the album on
the front cover and then a
minimalistic colour scheme which is
still bold. This style is similar to rock
conventions.
One of the main conventions of
an album advert is putting the
release date on, making the
audience immediately aware of
when they can purchase the
album. This is a convention I will
be including in the advert design.
Again this advert follows the
convention of stating which
popular singles are on the
album, this persuades the
audience to buy the album as
it will include songs they
already know and love. This
convention will be used in our
advert.
The advert like many follows house
style texts, this makes the products
look more recognisably and also more
professional. The audience can tell
just by the text what it links to
therefore for our advert this
convention will be followed
The album advert follows
the convention of stating
how you can buy the
album on CD, Vinyl and
digitally so that the
audience is aware how
they can buy the album.
Again this will be useful
as we are making a digi-
pack.
Again like most album adverts the
bands names is right at the top of
the page and is the one of the
first things people will see along
with the bold album title. This
means the audience is aware
straight away about what the
advert is telling them.
The advert follows the convention of putting
the bands website onto the advert so that
fans can receive more information about the
album/band and also adds more ways for
the band to promote their products. The
text small so that it does not take away the
main attention of the advert.
4. Advert Analysis
Following advert conventions the
artists names is right at the top of
the page and is the one of the
first things people see. The title is
bold and bright.
Unlike indie and rock bands,
artists like Olly Murs who come
under the pop genre tend to aim
to attract a younger target
audience meaning the advert
must be brighter, more colourful
and slightly more eye catching to
draw the attention of younger
audiences. Although I won’t be
following the same scheme it has
drawn to my attention that when
creating the advert for indie
genre I must think about my
target audience.
Again this album advert follows a house text
so that the audiences will be immediately
aware of who the advert is about just by
looking at the text making it recognisable and
professional looking as it makes it
aesthetically pleasing to the audience.
The album advert follows the
convention of putting on the date
of the release to make clear to
the audience when they can
purchase the album. A convention
that I feel is key to include in any
advert.
This advert has followed the convention
of putting the artists website on the
bottom of the page, this means that
fans can get further information and
allows the band to promote themselves
further. Like many the text is written
small so that it doesn’t draw away any
attention from the main advert.
The advert states what
singles are included on the
album which entices people
in, persuading them to buy
the album. They also state
that they are #1 singles which
would persuade people even
if they are not fans, making
the artist look better.
