Creativity and Originality in the Music Video Originality/ Creativity We decided that due to our music video not containing a narrative, we would have to create original, memorable aspects of the DVNO world that the audience would remember after they have finished watching the video. One of the ways we decided to do this was to have the dancers portray memorable makeup ‘infected’ by the music. As well as this, the dancers’ makeup is different from the duo’s with them portraying a silver stripe across their face instead of pink. This illuminates their originality, encouraging their audiences to break out of the barriers they have been ‘restrained in’.
6. Originality/Creativity in the CD Cover We decided to produce our product as a single, allowing us to focus on the aspects that make DVNO as a song itself, as this is the duo’s main focus. Through creating the ‘eyes’ on the front of the cover featuring the unique pink strip, the CD cover continues the star image that separates ‘DVNO’ from any other music video. We connected the back cover of the single with the front cover mainly through the use of the unique makeup, worn by the main singer on the back.
7. Youthfulness in the Music Video Through having the entire cast of the music video as youthful, Electric Deserts represents the ways in which our ‘future generation’ is setting the trends in music. Through creating a set that represents a club-like theme. DVNO draws on the youthful nature that attracts the duo’s target audience
8. Youthfulness in the CD Cover and Poster Although the CD covers are simplistic, they depict the star image and is being created through the invention of Electric Deserts. As well as highlighting the sexual magnetism that is portrayed, this cover also highlights the emphasis place on the ‘youth of today’ with Electric Deserts depicting the ways in which the music industry is advancing and adapting.
9. Sexual Magnetism Music Video Through creating a sexual magnetism for both male and female audiences, DVNO entices the audiences to have an ‘increased desirability’ for the band and the music video itself, enticing them to watch the video again and become interested in this new and novel band.
