In our promotional video we decided that all of us will give the camera a go everyone I our
team had a go at a shot which of course are included in the video itself.
Before we go out and shoot we had a brief moment of thinking about the shots since some
of us did it last year we decided not to repeat some of the shots so it doesn’t look to
repetitive so we thought of different shots. We all agreed on the shots because we imagined
and worked out how it would turn out. The reason we did plan it so we know exactly what
to do when we go out so we don’t panic with the time.
We chose to have a close up to the logo of the college .
I took the majority role of editing the video and putting all together.
The editing went well I had to import the clips from the phone to the computer via USB-C
cable which allowed me to copy all the clips to my computer then drag them to the editing
software.
We decided to stick with the voice overs since we had them last year as weal so we though
it would be great idea to have the voice overs on this year video as well.
The edited version of the video was sent to Travis who does the voice overs and he watched
it scene by scene and had to comment on the video about the college then he send me the
voice overs though WhatsApp and I included them to the final piece. I think the voice overs
worked well because they were recorded in a quiet place which makes the audio
automatically louder and clear the voice over helps the people watching what’s the college
about. The audio is more personal and its more engaging the fact that student as talking to
the audience makes it
There wasn’t any technical issue everything went pretty smooth the only down side was the
shots some of them the ware not in focus which wasn’t that good looking.
I think as year go by I learn more and more skills and even develop new ones which will
come handy later in life especially if I’mfocusing in media department.
If I can retake this activity, I would shot it with a camera this time instead of Phone.
For my poster I tried to make it as simple as possible I simply gathered information about
the college. I went for the simple background (white) I guess I could of add some
background color or a color overlay. I’ve added some arrows pointing to the different bit of
information.
I choose to have red arrows so they stand out to the eyes to point at the bids of information
Matthew directed the operation and also took worked with the camera work
Travis did the voice over and also helped with part of the cinematography he did couple of
shots.
Luca helped with the cinematography as we went along.
Matthew also suggested the transmissions on the video.
There was tiny bit of color grading at the beginning.
The sound of the video was muted as there was a lot if wind and if we decided to speak as
we film there it wouldn’t have been able to be.
The reason we filmed with these techniques the pano moves the camera zoom the close ups
we used natural light as we thought it would be the best for when its previewed the reason
we made the video as it is, because we want to make the video suitable for the
parents/guardians and the students them self’s the way is shot the idea of the shots is to
show Bede colleges facility’s to the students and parents to make it easy to understand and
make it easy to understand.
