2. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
Males aged 10-18
Spider-man is typically targeted at a
younger audience, this could be due
to the fact that the protagonist is
often younger than most other
heroes.
• Secondary Audience
Males aged 18-30
Due to the success of the marvel
cinematic universe Spider-man is
more likely to attract an audience
within this age range even if it isn’t
affiliated with the Marvel Cinematic
Universe.

is told by the media

believing the invasion to be real.
5. Uses and Gratifications Information
I use google to research information, fact check
and learn from multiple sources.
6. Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
One might see a celebrity as an aspirational
figure in the media and strive to be more like
them.
7. Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
I use Instagram for communicating with friends.
8. Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
I use youtube for entertainment as it can
provide hours of free, interesting, and enjoyable
content.
9. Consumer Generated Content
• Example
– Youtube is a site that thrives off consumer generated
content
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– Media producers can share content such as trailers
easier and to a larger audience over something like
youtube than they could on regular TV.
• Why would the audience generate content?
– Because it gives them a platform to reach other
people with their ideals, there is also frequently some
sort of financial incentive.
