How to make a robot’s arm?


  Instructions for the Robotics Project
           By the Polish team
      eTwinning Bermuda Triangle
Making a robot arm is not very
  complicated if you follow the
    instuctions step by step.

We have gathered some pictures for
   you to make the task easier.
 We hope our hints will be useful!
The two brackets built in this step are used to attach
the arm motor to the turntable base. Attach one
bracket first, then attach the arm motor, then attach
the second bracket.
Four wires are needed in this step:
Use the shortest wire to connect the touch sensor to port 1 on the NXT. Use one
of the longest wires to connect the claw motor to port C on the NXT. Use one of
the medium-length wires to connect the turntable motor to port A on the NXT.
Use one of the medium-length wires to connect the arm lifting motor to port B
on the NXT.
Use the program Arm Control for the Robot Arm. This
program allows to control the robot arm using the
Left, Right, and Enter buttons on the NXT brick and
the touch sensor button.
The Arm Control program allows to control the arm
using the buttons. Try making a program of your own
that controls the arm automatically by itself with a
pre-programmed sequence of moves.

                                   SENSORS
An intelligent, computer-controlled LEGO®
brick, the NXT is
the brain of the LEGO MINDSTORMS®
Education robot.
Touch Sensors
Enable the robot to respond to
obstacles in the environment.
Sound Sensor
Enables the robot to respond to
sound levels.
Light Sensor
Enables the robot to respond to
variations in light level and color.
Ultrasonic Sensor
Enables the robot to measure
distance to an object and to
respond to movement.
Attaching the sensors
 Sensors can be plugged into any
    input port numbered 1-4.

Any wires except the converter wire
can be used to connect the sensors.
