Saving water is important as water resources are decreasing around the world. Some ways to save water include brushing teeth with a cup of water instead of leaving the tap running, taking quick showers instead of baths to use less water, turning off the tap while washing hands and only using a small stream of water, tightening taps to prevent leaks, and using water-saving programs on appliances like washing machines and dishwashers. These small changes can help save thousands of liters of water per year.

Today, the supply of drinking water is constantly
decreasing. Namely, in many countries around
the world billions of children die from lack of
water, or by consumption of contaminated
water. Fortunately, Poland, Germany and Spain
have large water resources, but that does not
mean that we can pay no attention to the
environment. To the contrary, we should take
care of the environment and save water.

3. Brushing teeth
At the beginning you should pay attention to
how we wash teeth. The most common mistake
when brushing your teeth is not turning the tap
– in that way we waste even sixteen liters of
water. Before brushing the teeth, prepare a cup
of water with which you will rinse your mouth
before and after the brushing. You will use only
half a litre of water…

5. Shower instead of a
bath
The next thing is taking a bath. You should take
a quick shower rather than filling the entire bath
with water each time you want to wash yourself
(taking a bath consumes more than 180 liters of
water while the quick shower amounts to 50 -
70 liters).

7. Washing hands
We can reduce water consumption when
washing hands. Turn the tap just a little. Small
stream of water is completely enough for us to
wash our hands.

9. Tightened taps
Tighten the taps in your house. It is important
as it helps saving up to eleven thousand liters of
water per year.

11. Eco programs
Use the water-saving programs in washing
machines and dishwashers (Eco program). Do
not wash dishes while water is running. Please
fill in one sink compartment or a bowl with
water and pour some dishwashing liquid.
