HOW TO SAVE WATER
When you brush your teeth, use mouthwash
cup instead of running water ! You will use
only 0.5 liters instead of 16 liters !
When you brush your teeth or face, make
sure water is not running.
• When you wash your hands, the stream of
water does not have to flow with maximum
force.
• Take a quick shower rather than bathe in
the tub! Full bath is about 180 liters of
water, while one minute of showering
takes about 10 liters of water.
• When taking a bath, do not pour water to
the brim. Fill the bathtub to its 1/3 of
capacity. Be sure to use the drain plug
first. Cold water will pour in the tub only for
few seconds, then it will become warmer.
• Remember that you do not have to empty
the whole water tank every time you are
using the toilet. Typically the water tank is
equipped with two buttons - a smaller and
a larger one. Always use the smaller one.
• Avoid unnecessary flushing the toilet.
Throw the used toilet paper into the bin
rather than to the toilet.
• Repair dripping faucets. If the faucet is
dripping at a frequency of "drop per
second" - it makes 11935 liters of water
per year!
• Change the taps to ones that will save
water. You may just install the aerators, or
install the thick mesh that will aerate the
running water. As a result, the stream of
water will become stronger.
• Use dishwashers and washing machines
only when they are full.
• Do not wash the dishes with running
water. Instead, fill one of the sink’s
compartments with soapy water. Then,
rinse the washed dishes with a small
stream of running water.
• When washing a car, use water from a
bucket, not a hose .
• Do not pour water if you can use it for eg .
watering flowers, garden, or cleaning .
